My body is ready

for Galaxy S7 Edge ha ha

But seriously.. Fastest chip on a smartphone? Samsung should add Tizen to S7 just to prove how fast Samsung Exynos 8890 really is! Will destroy the iPhone 7 in terms of speed
If you want prove? wait until you see a comparison between Gears S3 vs Apple Watch, the Samsung single core will destroy the dual core from the :apple: Watch, Intel is the king PC cpu while Samsung is the king in mobile CPUs

Icon X is so much better in every aspect than the AirPods and Gear S3 Frontier will destroy the :apple: Watch especially in sales!

I just told my sister who owns a Galaxy S7..look the iPhone 7 just came out and your camera from the S7 it's better than the one from the iPhone 7 xD! I got admit they added some intersting stuff to the camera but when it comes to photo quality..the S7 wins!

What Samsung should do is not just chuck another chip in a product or a feature and say hey kids look what we got... they should find harmony in their system and refine it ... may save on the fires.

The Gear 3 may be faster but having not seen much with an apple Series 2 I couldn't say but I know I wouldn't buy a gear as I think they lack anything special about them. They tried being different but were cheap and have now caved going the circular design combination design route. Dull.

How do you know the iPhone 7 does not take better pictures than the S7?

I'm not ready to give up Android (vendor hardware and software) functionality just yet, but I will say this:

Finally Apple makes an iPhone for MEN.

That piano black is f'in Darth Vader cool. It hides the antenna bands and makes the phone look one-piece when shut off. Bad-ASS.

Too bad about the HP jack and iOS's limitations, but I think that including the adapter goes a long way.

I'm almost, almost tempted.

Now, those AirPods are laughable. The single worst design I've ever seen from Apple in recent memory.

Those headphone adapters are destined for many drawers, to be rediscovered, like so many iPod wired remotes, only years later when their purchasers are moving, which discovery will be accompanied by the thought, "Hunh. I guess I didn't care about headphone jacks as much as I thought I would."

The Lightning/3.5mm adapter seems reasonable at just $9, but it's unlikely to be particularly durable, so it'll be a regular purchase for anyone who doesn't want to look like they've got shaving foam dripping out of their ears.

It's easier to have a good frame rate when screen resolution is low.

Few of these benchmarks have any dependence on screen resolution but if your point is that many android phones are fitted with GPUs that are unable to satisfactorily drive their screens that were made at a resolution for no other reason than a tick on a spec sheet, I'd have to agree.

No. I remember how CD-ROMs took off then. Everything else was still very expensive for many years to come.

But I also don't remember them announcing CD-Rs on the exact same day the iMac lost the floppy drive. They'd been around and people knew what they were. In other words, there was overlap between the old and the new. (Kind of like how Apple transitioned from PowerPC to Intel. Remember that? How they took a year to do it?)

Not like this where they just went and did it all at once. Why? Why not make Airbuds available last year with the iPhone 6S? Would that have made too much sense? Apparently!

Apple has had wireless headphones since they bought Beats, and people have known about bluetooth for much longer than that... Apple has also promoted the lightning jack as an audio port for a while now, and lightning headphones are on the market. I'm not sure what additional overlap you think they need.

AirPods probably weren't available last year because they weren't made yet, there aren't many truly wireless headphones on the market right now. Not easy to implement.

Immediately following its media event today in San Francisco, Apple invited members of the press to a special hands-on area to get a closer look at the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The first real-life photos and videos of the smartphones are now beginning to surface around the web, showcasing the improved cameras, new black colors, no headphone jack, and more.

The Verge shared pictures of the iPhone 7 in both the new Black and Jet Black colors, providing a glimpse of the new matte and glossy finishes in action. The two new colors complement the existing options of Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold. Jet Black in particular will be limited to 128GB and 256GB models of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, while the other four colors will be available for all storage capacities.

In the article, the website described the iPhone 7's capacitive home button as "awful," adding that "it doesn't feel like a button at all."CNET prepared a quick hands-on video with the iPhone 7 Plus in Rose Gold, showing off its dual cameras, no headphone jack, stereo speakers, repositioned antenna bands, and capacitive, force-sensitive home button.

SlashGear, meanwhile, provided a hands-on look at Apple's new wireless AirPods with charging case and Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. AirPods will be available for $159 in late October, while the Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter is included in the box with iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The adapter is $9 as a standalone purchase on Apple's online store and retail locations.

More hands-on videos and first impressions should follow in the coming hours and days.

That jet black will look like it lost a fight on a bus full of drag queens on their way to a wig sale within a week.

Not offering a strap for the AirPods as other earbud Bluetooth headsets makes me wonder if new "AirPod" bands are coming.

Lol, love how you described what will happen to jet black.

I had HIGH hopes in the AirPods ... I won't end up buying them. They put almost two years in designing them and yet they basically have the same design as the existing EarPods? Besides that they look pretty ridiculous with those 'sticks' sticking out of your ears (yes, this MIGHT improve bluetooth connectivity which others have struggled with, so far, but we will have to wait for first practical tests on this), I have my doubts about how well they will stay in. No sleeves whatsoever? That's super risky. All in all I'm really disappointed this is all they came up with after all those patents and time put into developing these. I'll go with one of the competitors...

The new iPhone is pretty neat and I want it so bad. It only has one drawback: not in 4''...

However, Apple totally sold me on the watch, today. That new Apple Watch is just AMAZING.

Yep, I remember the puck...also remember Jobs swooning over it saying it was beautiful lol

I think it was beautiful too (compared to mice at the time), but as a mouse? No. Just. NO. The Mac Pro is another example of beautiful and useless to me. I'm not buying a truck with a sealed hood. EVER.

Apple sometimes goes off the deep end trying to be different and ends up making dumb decisions.

Today is one of those days.

I can't decide between matte black and jet black. I love the jet black color, but it'll be covered in scratches in about 10 seconds.

Apple developed a custom chip for auto pair and it lasts 5hrs. Comparable wireless buds cost $200-$300

It's nice to know the headphone jack adapter is only $9 by itself. For all of the rumors and hysteria that the adapters could cost $30 or more, I think Apple did a sufficient job today of quelling those fears.

True, but yet another dongle ...

I use analog headphones for conference calls due to the length of the calls ... but have switched to BT headphones for media. Nevertheless I will miss the analog jack dearly...

As for the EarPods, they're too small - too easy to lose, I'll stick to my over-the-head phones for now.

AFAIK the "sticks" have little or nothing to do with Bluetooth reception. They are there to improve microphone quality and, since, you can use both or one airpod, with stereo channels being directed appropriately, they need to be on both.

Same position. I'll also get a case for it, so... Not sure what to do. Have til Friday at 3AM to decide at least lol.

I feel like it should really be called the iPhone 6SS, since it looks like like the 6 aside from some new colors.

Just watch the Video of "TheVerge" and see how dirty it looks in this video. I believe the matte will barely show any fingerprints.

Bingo, and it didn't take really oily hands. Surprisingly the jet black sheen hides finger prints much better. I'm staring at my Mac Pro6,1 which is very similar if not the same and it doesn't show finger prints when touched. The matte finish did quite often, however the edges of the jet black might show more wear.

Have a look back at the shot in the OP of the thread. to repeat it:

iphone-7-black-jet-black.jpg

Look closer at the Black phone versus Jet/Piano black. the fingerprints are clearly visible in Black versus jet black.

The difference however, between Jet Black and the original black on, say the 5, 4s, and lower, is obviously the gloss on the finish of the older phones. Those would be more susceptible to scratches than Jet Black, which definitely looks similar to the Mac Pro. In terms of fingerprints, I'd say that Jet Black would be better. In terms of scratches, try to scratch a Mac Pro and see what happens. If the same can be done on Black, then even push.

BL.
