iPhone 7 Lines Start Growing Ahead of Friday's Launch

It's not about getting a phone early, it's about looking cool and tech-y. Only problem is, this is early-2000's behavior. The world moved on. Heck, even hipsters moved on and they were the kings of this nonsense.

Phones aren't cool anymore. They're tools, and everyone has one. These guys are just terribly behind the times.

I know some people who are doing this because they sell them to co-workers and friends that don't have time to be there. So there's money to be made. I know I've been offered money from co-workers because my preorder will be here before their November dates.. for the right price I'll listen..

Im starting to think this people enjoy this little experience/camping more than being the firsts to have the new hardware. The phone is nice and im getting one but that has got to have another purpose.

I live about 4 miles from the NYC store in the picture, 5th Ave. Mac rumors is reporting that Apple won't have many phones available in the stores on launch day this year, partially because of the upgrade program snafu reported here.

In the past, some of the people, at least at NYC stores, that lined up were purchasing their 2 phone limits to then sell at much higher markup to others, or they worked for a fee to stand in line and purchase the phones that would be then sold for markup for others.

A lot of android users are mac users... which would be me. But I'm slowly ditching everything apple except for Mac OS (hence the hackintosh). I'm sick of all the restrictions and disposable gimped products they make.

To be honest, I don't get it either. But, who are we to criticise someone else for doing something they enjoy just because we can't see the point/value. I mean, I'm sure there are people queuing for hours sometimes days for other big occasions like sports or music events.

This. I just don't understand why it bothers other people. I'd NEVER do this in my entire life, but am happy for people that do and hope they get it.

I'm glad people do these things..let the early adopters find out if this new phone has all of the bugs worked out!
I don't want to trade in my 6 and find out the 7 can't make calls or something ...its all good clean fun tho

But apparently they are selling better than expected at T-Mo, Sprint, and AT&T. VZW said sales were "normal."
