I'm amazed this still happens in 2016 when you can get up at midnight, order and be done in 30 seconds, then have it dropped off at your house on launch day? I've done exactly these steps for the past 6 launches and never been disappointed.

Oh, this is too bad. Apple gave away all the iPhones to the Update Program whiners! (Yes, I'm one of them, and I whined too.)

Apple fans are just like sports fan. They get line to get the product/service they want. Yes everybody knows we can just preorder from the comfort of our bed, but the people who wait in front of the stores do it for the experience. I don't understand how people just gotta be rude to die hard fans.

because it's literally pathetic to wait in line for days so that you can spend money on a phone. and this is coming from a "die hard" apple fan.

Sure but if you've bought X phone why run down some other phone?
I guess I don't get that.
Constructive debate is one thing but to trash something you don't own..whats the point.
Again, how people spend their life is up to them..

Because waiting a couple more days isn't going to make any difference. It's a waste of time, unless you don't value it.

It’s a phone. Just a phone. I might appear aloof for saying this but jeez, I think they need to get some perspective. Cos at the end of the day it’s a phone. Just a phone.

I'm a pretty big Apple fan, but this strikes me as *such* a waste of life. Especially with the ease of pre-ordering. If I missed those pre-orders, I'd wait. That's just madness.

Some people think it's fun. That's it. Nothing else to say. Leave it alone. People get to do what they want to do.
Now ST_U.

why are you being sensitive. We are having a discussion.

A smart customer would save the time/vacation days and use that towards buying iphone accessories or just saving money in general. Waiting all day on the side of a dirty street is not fun.

Unless you think hanging out with these kind of folks is "fun"?

Sad they put this much effort into getting the phone when mine will be delivered before the Apple store many of them are at even open.

To be honest, I don't get it either. But, who are we to criticise someone else for doing something they enjoy just because we can't see the point/value. I mean, I'm sure there are people queuing for hours sometimes days for other big occasions like sports or music events.
I like your optimistic view, no sarcasm here, we need more posts like this. So many haters in here and in life.

yes you got me - im in line guys!

it's sooooooooooo much fun! i was projecting how wasteful it was being in line for 2 days but look at me - posting from line.
Glad you came around and wised up. Since you took the time to post six times in this thread, I kinda figured this would happen.

This sort of thing was understandable sometimes in the Jobs era. Now they just look like a bunch of tools.

I'm surprised Timmy doesn't cash in on this. Sell the phones a week sooner at $400 premium.

For $400 extra, you can be 100% guaranteed to get it a full week ahead of everyone else. No line up needed.

Apparently none of them have been reading the reports that apple will not have any available in stock for walk-ins at stores and there will be zero jet black available on launch day. That'd be great if people wait for days and there are none.

But I plan on getting there at 6am just in case there is an off chance... because what else do i have to do? Besides I have a 8:30am reservation pick for iPhone upgrade program. I do enjoy just hanging out and talking to people... but not for 2 days.

I personally think it's more of a statement. I think a lot of these people want to say 'I was one of the first to get the iPhone 7, I waited 2 days. I'm a real Apple fan, check my iPhone out' Which I'm not knocking just my observation.

I love Apple stuff and I've normally got an iPhone being delivered on release but this year everyone beat me to the Jet Black and my delivery is 4/10/16 - 10/10/16. (although after all that I've now ordered the matte black as well for similar delivery I've still not decided which one to cancel!) but I must admit as the years have gone I'm not as fused about having it bang on release date.
