COURAGE not COVERAGE!It saw thousands of views from Reddit yesterday, one of the 10 most visited sites in the world, and made the front page there, racking up more than 669,000 views. Yes, it clearly lacks coverage.
You clearly missed the reference. "courage" was the reason that Apple gave for removing the headphone jack. The video attempts to add the headphone jack back and so... removing courage.
We've hit the point where Apple hardware is easier to hack and modify than their software.

That's why I upgraded my iPhone 6+ to an Android unit with a headphone jack. And, no I don't regret the decision.
The part he left out of the video. It wouldn't get as many clicks if people knew he had to take something out to get to this. I also wonder about how water proof the phone would be with this jack? and what other mods would need to be done.
Except he removed the sensor there and made the corner-frame weak after drilling a hole at this structural location.
I feel that this misses the point of thunderbolt 3. Realistically, using one port with a hub makes far more sense for a mobile computer than plugging in several different cables and unplugging every time. If you are regularly plugging in more than 4 devices a hub or a desktop is a better option simply for practicality.
Cool... Maybe next he'll figure out how to add a regular size USB-A port. I went wireless long ago.

I thought this would be a problem but between the included adapter for plugging in 3.5mm and the general move towards wireless I no longer think this is an issue.
The sound quality is still superior to wireless headphones.... and they never need to be charged. And they cost way less.
Laughable! Extremely laughable! And in the few years to come his vides will be more laughable then Steve Ballmers videos about iPhones keyboard. Some people just love to go backwards.....
Of all the possible hardware modifications / additions you could do the iPhone, this has to be one of the silliest. looks like great integration and good hardware implementation none the less.
Sooo.... he traveled to China. Met interesting people. Conducted a successful experiment to install a working headphone jack in an iPhone 7. In the process, he greatly increased his knowledge of the inner workings of the phone and adapters. Maybe made some money with views, etc. Got his name out and demonstrated his considerable skill. And you call all this a waste of time? Compared to what??? Surfing Macrumors and playing video games and picking your nose? Give me a break.
And they are extremely inconvenient...to the point I can't ever be bothered to buy a pair.
Says you. They're extremely convenient to me cuz I can't be bothered to keep yet another device always charged... and I do NOT respect garbage sound quality at 3 times the price.
