I haven't read this entire thread but can someone please let me know if this issue is common in the iPhone 7 too or just the 7 plus? Thanks

i had an iphone 6s, same issue. checked about 10 6s’s, from friends, family, same issue. bought an iphone 8 just a week ago, it was all fine, thought i was lucky but no, after a week does that sound when pressed.
designed by apple in california, made in china, ideed. it’s the last apple product i buy. 900 euro for a junk.

apparently my iphone 8 seems to have the same issue. notably the bottom part of the screen above the home button clicks pretty much every time when i apply some pressure. it just sounds as if the adhesive is sticking and unsticking.
also, i'm quite sure that this "problem" hasn't been there from the very beginning.

i actually don't remember if i had a similar issue with my previous 6s, but it seems to be rather "common".
so, i guess it's more of a "non-issue" and won't negatively affect the device in any way in the future. although it can be quite annoying...

It shouldn't be happening on a premium device. Every 12 inch iPad Pro I've tried also clicks ridiculously. I'll post back here tomorrow if I remember to report if my iPhone X has the same issue. I am hoping not with the stainless steel construction and lack of home button, but nothing surprises me with Apple anymore.

I have the same issue... down right corner keeps clicking, like one of those old Alcatel phones. :(

Found the exact same issue in my 7 Plus 32GB Gold (month old device) and got it replaced in AASP and now the replaced device is having the exact same issue !

And I wanna know will the creaking go away with usage ?

(sorry for my bad english im from Belgium)

My problem was if I pushed pressure right from the home button or on the home button itself it makes a click noise, after it it disperse for sometimes 5min sometimes 30min or an hour. After that if you push again it makes that click again and it was driving me crazy (if i putted a lightning cable in it the sound disappears) , i don't like to get it replaced because you almost never get a new phone, if you got a replacement from Apple it are repaired products that you get so the chance is bigger you have problems with it.
So I gave the screwdriver a chance, i tightened both screws to a point that i felt that there resistance was coming.
I think almost a complete turn, they were actually pretty loose.

The noise is completely gone :) i hope it stays like that and if it comes back i will report it here.

I have same issue on top middle part of iphone x , since it's on top, I guess tightening screw won't fix it... not a big issue as I won't hear anything with normal use, but annoying it's there
