My plus, 3 days old, all stock settings, BT on to watch, wifi always on etc.
Drained it out of the box just playing games with my kids and videos until it switched off then did an overnight charge.

Battery at 95% with 1 hours use and 6.5 house standby, includes voice calls. If this was my OLD 4s that I just retired, I would be below 50%!

Will take me a while to get used to not plugging it in to charge every night

What do your standby vs. usage numbers look like at the end of a 100-10 drain?
I'd have to let you know after I hit 10%. I don't on a typical work day. However right now i'm at 57% and usage is 1 hour 59 minutes and standby is 13 hour 4 minutes.
Brightness never hits 50%. I typically keep it around 25% to 35%
I work in a clean room and when i'm in there I have the phone on airplane mode. So I just use it in the morning when I get up and I listen to podcasts on my short commute though I do have the phone plugged in a charger in the truck. So around 2x 20 minute breaks and then about a 45 minute lunch. Mostly I just read the news and check email and messages. I log into clash of clans very briefly to gather resources. And I watched the star wars rogue one trailer when I got home.

Battery life never seems consistent. My usage while at work is pretty much the same day in and day out but battery life can vary wildly. While in airplane mode I lost 3% in 2.5 hours. Then after the next 3 hours in airplane mode I lost 8%. And it always varies.

What I find is the biggest drainer of power is location based apps, and when you are moving they are constantly updating in the background. I have a lot of location based apps. I've found that when I'm just at home, battery life goes way up.

I'm about where you are. Standby is fantastic but actual usage seems much less than others.
Ditto. Average right about 8 hours of usage and maybe in the mid-teens for standby. Have yet to hit double digits in hours for usage time. Blown away at some of the pics I've seen in this thread!

Ok scratch that. I don't know what the hell happened today but my battery life VASTLY improved. Did nothing different, didn't change settings or anything like that.

My battery life has been pretty amazing compared to my 6+ we will see as time goes by if it stays that way.

The battery isn't bad most of the time for me, but this is my first phone without a mophie case (since haven't released one yet). At times like a wedding, my phone would die quickly (taking photos, snap chat). But most of the time by 6pm i have 15-30% battery left which isn't bad at all. I commend apple on this improvement.

For me the biggest drainer seems to be WhatsApp with it's annoying background activities that just keep going even if you have them switched off officially.

I have my 7 more than 2 weeks and it's been a joy.
The battery usually lasts 1.5-2 days, depending on usage. Apple Watch always connected, bluetooth always on.
Great device!

Why is battery life not what apple advertising

Because if you use the phone in a way that it utilises the high powered cores, it will drain faster than the A9.
I suspect there is a lot of optimisation still to be done before they can claim it is indeed much better in battery life.

Does this look good? Iam on low power mode all the time. Thanks

Hi all,

upgraded to iPhone 7 plus 128gb from an iPhone 6 and battery was perfect to begin with, 7.5-9 hrs usage with pokemon go, music, youtube, Facebook etc all perfect!

last couple of weeks, I'm struggling to get 4 hours usage, and battery drains even on standby a couple of percent every hour.

ive removed my hotmail and gmail emails from the mail app and downloaded gmail and outlook and nothing has changed, also turned off background refresh and location on most apps also.

getting a bit annoyed as i paid £819 for the phone outright and this happens, Apple do not have any genius apps near me for a few weeks. I've had the phone reset to DFU and reset and restored from back up, I've also manually installed each app and reinstalled to see if there was a rogue app, no luck! Apple have run diagnostic and so have a Apple Reseller and they have concluded no issues with battery,

I'm running latest IOS and as I have said have backed up / restored many times. I use Apple Watch daily so bluetooth is always on but never had an issue in the first week or two of having the phone. here are to screens of my usage.

Sounds to me like you need a replacement. Unfortunately that probably means a genius appointment and as you said, waiting. Maybe call AppleCare and explain that there isn't a convenient appointment for weeks, and see if there's anything they could do to help you out.

you guys realize that usage still counting even on standby mode right. so that usage percentage is not accurate.

Just wanted to Post that I've been loving my battery life so far! I originally came from android, but I'm surprised of the idle life of the battery compared to when I had Nougat on Nexus 6P.

My best results I've ever gotten, and this was on Christmas Day. I've had 7hrs 53mins of screen on time, and a whopping 30 hours of Standbye time.

Which I think is freaking crazy, but awesome at the same time! Haha

I seem to get similar numbers, around 7-8 hrs of usage per charge. I don't run out by the end of the day so I'd say that's really good!

I thought this was pretty amazing standby time.

I bought my iPhone 7plus on 12/11/16. I have been very pleased with the battery life thus far. I have gotten as much as 90 hours standby with 8.5 hours of mixed usage. The only thing that I am not happy with, is the stock music app. Using it to play music already on the phone causes the battery to drain very fast. I had the same problem with my iPhone 6. I wish Apple would get the iOS 10 bugs ironed out.
