Still watching the local stores for availability (PDX). Almost grabbed one last week, but decided to hold off for a discount.

Thought about doing IUP, but I'd rather save some money on the deal. I just applied for a Discover card, and plan to order online (for the 5% cashback) and pick up in store when available. Then at the end of the year I get another 5% cashback from the Discover first-year match. I'd rather have the 128 JB, but if a 256 pops up I'll probably jump on it.

The SIM-free Black 256GB iPhone 7 Plus that I ordered was finally delivered. If you are looking for this iPhone in stores, the Model Number is A1661 and the Part Number is MN4E2LL/A.

Atlast
Mine is still stuck in Incheon, KR , no clue when its going to move from there.

You should be prepared to wait. After my package arrived at Incheon, Korea, it took UPS 78 hours (3 days) to get it on its way to Anchorage, Alaska.

Yeah this is bad, my delivery date is already mentioned as nov 15th and i hope it doesnt get delayed more. I wonder why Apple doesnt do anything about this

Hows the new phone?

I am working while trying to perform a minimal setup in order to examine it. I will report during the evening.

I ordered the 7 plus sim free in gold 128 gb on October 23 from apple. Order is still "processing" and says it will deliver between November 22 to November 30. Anyone else place an order around that time? Is your order still processing?

I'm hoping my phone might ship soon and come a week earlier than the estimated delivery.

Yours will probably be shipping soon I expect given the delivery estimate as long as there are no unexpected delays, so hopefully you'll get it soon within the timeframe they gave you. Mine will probably be in a later shipment.

I'm just hoping it reach my hands before my departure.
I know your excitement. I'm checking my Apple order details almost every half day to see any changes. Lol, it's more than that.
Wish you luck for an earlier date too.

How long does the package get shipped to the plane (China) once I get the 'Preparing for Shipment' notice?

You might be asking two questions: It can take 1 or 2 days for your order to change from "Preparing from Shipment" to "Shipped". But for Apple "Shipped" means making the package available to UPS. Once UPS takes possession of the package it can take 4 days for the package to actually depart.

Hows the new phone?

My first impression was bad: a streak slightly longer than an inch on the back the device. Fortunately, the finish was not marred. The streak was some kind of residue that came off with Meguiar's Interior Detailer Cleaner and some rubbing. I also noticed that the Lightning connector was not flushed with the body of the device, but I can tolerate that. The display is not as good as that of my wife's 7 Plus --which is virtually perfect-- but it is better than the yellowish display of my previous 7 Plus. I listened for the crackling/static noise that my previous 7 Plus had and found the device to be silent. The video hiss is comparable to that of my 6s Plus and thus acceptable. Then I noticed something shining under the dual-lens camera cover. It is a minuscule but bright speck on the border of the telephoto lens. I prepared a checklist but did not anticipate that issue. The speck does not have an impact on the quality of the photos but if it moved, it might. Moreover, once one notices a defect like that it cannot be ignored. Each time I put my phone face down on my desk, the lamp shines on the dual-lens cover and makes the speck noticeable. I have arranged for a replacement. Hopefully, third time's a charm.

My October 23 order switched to "preparing for shipment" today. I only checked because I noticed the charge is pending on my credit card now, and it wasn't there before. Delivery timeframe is still November 22 - 30, but maybe it will get updated to an earlier date once it actually ships.

So that is 16 days from the time I placed the order to preparing to ship. Slightly better than the 3 to 4 week estimate that apple gave me for shipping.

Well, i just cancel right now my order from apple for the 7+ 128gb JB Sim Free (929,83$) to be delivered by 12/12-12/24 and buy an unicorn from Amazon... 765.01$.. (don't know how!) and delivered thursday by One day shipping. So, be careful with amazon and check with them the price is lower than apple itself and prime available if amazon is the seller (this is my case)

The only one thing is that i don't know if this is an GSM Model or GSM + CDMA... neither the operator or if is a sim-free option. but it works for my anyway being GSM in all versions.

My order shipped. Delivery date of November 15. It is ahead of schedule so it looks like Apple is starting to get more phone shipments moving.

Man thats bad, waiting so long and got a defective product! Was this brand new or refurbished or something?

Factory new. It seems as if most iPhone 7 Plus devices have some kind of issue. Many settle for a device that is reasonably acceptable after considering how difficult is to get a replacement. Consideration is also given to reports of many who face the same or worse issues after going through several replacements. In a way, Apple has turned us into settlers (as in the DirectTV commercial). I am betting on third time's a charm.

First time ive heard of quality issues with a brand new apple product. Very strange. Supposedly they are manufacturing quick and run into all sorts of quality issues may be.

Has anyone seen this?

I just noticed this today when I went to check for in-store pickup availability. Before it used to show "Unavailable for pickup", and I knew that the store ran out of stock but replenishes on a regular basis.

Now I see "Available Dec 16" and an online specialist I talked to told me there won't be anymore in stock UNTIL Dec 16 unless someone cancels their reservations.

I did change the carrier from Sim-Free to T-Mobile and I noticed it says "Unavailable for pickup".

So maybe the sim-free models are truly out of stock until Dec 16?...
