SIM-FREE?
I believe the 7 and 7 Plus at Best buy are sim-free models. Just that when you insert the carrier sim to activate it will lock to that carrier (except Verizon).

You can compare the SKU for the one Best buy sells and the sim-free model on apple.com and they are the same SKU's.

You are 100% correct. I confirmed this with the Mobile Manager AT the Best Buy store when I went in to swap out my payment methods and put mine on my BB Visa.

I don't have a line/service with any carrier here in the US. And BESTBUY's telling me that I should have a line with one of those service providers.

You do not need one. Not to buy a phone full price. I'd order it. Going to the store means they want to sell you a contract.

"We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled"

This has to be the worse shipping experience I've ever had on any product.

Got my 256GB SIM-free JB+ today. They popped up on iStockNow and I just went ahead and ordered for store pickup. Process was super smooth.

I bought a SIM Free 7 Plus directly from Apple and on the back its printed A1522

Odd I have the sim-free 7 Plus Black 256 GB purchased from apple and on the back its printed A1661. Are you 100% positive that you have the 7? Because the A1522 model suggest that it is a 6 Plus model and not the 7 Plus. http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

The part number you listed is indeed a 7 Plus Silver 256 GB. But the imprint on the casing that you mentions is a 6 Plus so they must have made a mistake then.

I had a 6S Plus and upgraded to a 7 Plus...absolutely no question its a 7 Plus

This is Silver not black, so maybe thats the difference, but its defiantly a sim free 7 Plus 2556GB

I am getting increasingly disappointed. The latest entry by UPS on the progress of my package was: "Pkg shipped; delivery being scheduled." This is not very informational --especially considering that the entry was made at 1:40 PM EST and, as of 6:40 PM EST, the package has not left Incheon, Korea.

did you receive your shipment yet? i have mine on preparing for shipment for two days now. no clue when it will ship

Your kidding right?
do you honestly think someone would confuse a 6 Plus and a 7 Plus?

The photo you have clearly shows the 6 Plus model since it has the antenna band.

http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

Compare that and the iPhone 7 difference. It's clearly there. Also, does yours have a dual camera?

Yes it has a dual camera...it has 256GB- which is only available on the 7?

FYI- All of the 7's have antenna bands, on the black ip7 its still there its just black. On the silver its the same off color.

But my bad, the back is printed A1661- I was looking at the wrong image. Looks like they removed the IMEI number from the back.

Here is a breakdown of the models:
https://www.techwalls.com/iphone-7-plus-model-differences/

this is the correct image with model number. I had to take a photo to read the model # its so small

sorry I just noticed you said 6 Plus. Mine is a 7 Plus.

The Apple Store receipt says:
IPHONE 7 PLUS SILVER 256GB-USA
Part Number: MN4F2LL/A

Argh.... must've been a typo. However... your model number suggests a 7 plus and the 1553 suggests a 6s plus. Baffling. A 7 plus should be a 1661.

Not only I have not received my shipment (which is still at Incheon, Korea), I don't know when I am going to receive it.

I see mine shippped today but delivery date on UPS website says Nov 15th end of day, thats almost like half a month shipping time!
how much time does it take usually from shipping to delivery? Any idea?

With Worldwide Expedited Service, UPS should deliver a package from Asia to the United States in 4 to 5 business days. But that is not happening. UPS seems to be having difficulties in handling the large volume of shipments from China. One may also speculate that the Korean government may be taking more time than necessary in clearing shipments. Perhaps it is time for UPS to change the route.

Finally, the orders that were "shipped" on 10/28 got an Arrival Scan at Anchorage, Alaska, on 11/04 at 5:25 PM EST. I do not anticipate more undue delays within the United States. Although UPS has not provided a new Scheduled Delivery Date, I am hopeful that UPS can deliver on 11/07.

UPS has just been a **** show lately. I ordered a new camera from B&H yesterday that was scheduled to be delivered today and it was delayed till Monday, even though it said it was on its way to my local UPS store the entire day. Sit tight guys, you'll get it eventually.
