Is anyone having issues with the iphone 7 external speaker? I thought since it's stereo speaker now, it would be louder but I'm having issues. When I play the ringtones or play voice msgs through the wechat texting app, the audio start out low in the beginning and then increase in volume. It's never a consistent loudness. The volume is on max and I checked if the speaker are dirty/has debris. Not connected to bluetooth and already hard restarted 3x with no improvement. Also updated to the latest IOS. It's only a 12 day old iphone 7 that I gotten from tmobile.

Is anyone having this issue? Is it considered defective? I'm not sure its a convincing story and that they will let me exchange for a new iphone 7.

OP did a hard reset three times already.

Definitely go into an Apple Store, if one is near you. That doesn't sound normal, and I haven't had that problem. When you replicate it in-store, they'll replace it.

Thanks, yea, I figured out where the problem consistently occur. Will take it to a T-Mobile store tmrw and then Apple if tmobile won't do anything. Hopefully I can get it exchanged and the new one won't have issues

No issues here. Have you tried a hard reset? Could be a minor issue.

Yea, lol, does seem like a minor issue but hopefully tmobile or Apple will recognize it is still an issue. The phone is actually gift for my mom and she heavily rely on speaker phone to communicate and listen to voice msg (easier to send voice msg through app than to text bc different language). So in her case, the speaker audio is significantly important in her life. Either way, thanks for your input! And fingers crossed that all goes smoothly tmrw bc don't have time to keep making runs/spending time on fixing this or any other potential issues

That's understandable. I use the speaker function all the time for calls. So I can see Your dilema. And I absolutely love the new stereo speaker function. Good luck with your issue.

Did you noticed an unbalanced sound between the top and the bottom speakers?? My top speaker is noticeably lower than the bottom one, creating a disturbing unbalanced stereo sound... Will the next software update fix that?
