If they don't waterproof the phone the government will just water board it into submission. That's what Donald Trump would do if elected.
Your beloved obamanation set that precedent.
If they don't waterproof the phone the government will just water board it into submission. That's what Donald Trump would do if elected.
What I'd like to see:
- 4", 5" and 6" sizes with reduced bezels
- Rumored "dSLR" quality camera system utilizing multiple cameras
- Increase in battery rather than reduction in thickness
- True @3X displays on all models. Not necessary as I can only slightly tell a difference, but they'll be fast enough so why not just standardize there forever?
- Waterproofing to at least 1m
- It doesn't even need to be faster. Just take the processor efficiency improvements and put it all towards battery life. The 6s is plenty fast for a phone. Even the 6 would be good enough if it had the 2GB of RAM. More speed is always nice but the 6s just sings along already. But speed might be necessary for new camera tech?
- Simplify the headphone jack into the Lightning port, and use a built-in universally programmable Apple Sim that doesn't have a door
- Build TouchID into the display to reduce the bezel even more. Perhaps tweak 3D Touch to have an extra level of pressure to go home? That's a tough one to solve, but solve it!
- Something like the rumored "liquid metal" enclosures that are super strong, light and seamless. At least get rid of the bands. Though it's not like I see them!
- Sapphire display coating. Keep it strong but coat it somehow to make it completely scratch resistant.
Strange that so many other companies duplicate Apple's designs right after they're released.I'm amazed a company renowned for design has released phones with such low design standards!
Haha dude that will happen. The same way you got to charge the apple pencil via the iPad pro connect.
They will do it!
I'll agree with the last two, but where is the problem in build quality you speak of?True, I hope Apple stops the obsession with thinness. I'm sure people will not mind few tenths of mm in return for a better build quality, battery life and flush-fit camera.
I'll agree with the last two, but where is the problem in build quality you speak of?
Yet testing had proven that the iPhone 6 is less bendable than other flagship phones on the market.I was referring to issues like bending with iPhone 6 which I think is largely because they're approaching limits of shrinking...
Some cars don't dent when you hit them with a shopping cart. Or when kicking them. But I guess the company that pioneered that is out of business now, lol.Yet testing had proven that the iPhone 6 is less bendable than other flagship phones on the market.
Which brings me the obvious question, how does sitting on a $600 device like an idiot (that's not directed at you) reflect on build quality? I don't think you are using the right term here. A car can have great build quality, but it's still going to dent when you hit it with a shopping cart.
Yet testing had proven that the iPhone 6 is less bendable than other flagship phones on the market.
I still don't understand your claim of bad quality. How is a device bending when sat on bad quality? This is kinda similar to Steve Jobs' statement "You're holding it wrong" regarding the iPhone 4 reception issues. Steve Jobs went to great lengths to prove iPhone is better than many other phones but that doesn't invalidate the issue. The same is true with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S rectified it with a stronger series 7000 aluminium.
I still don't understand your claim of bad quality. How is a device bending when sat on bad quality?
I'm asking what makes it a bad design?Well, you may call it poor design?
Hasn't every new model gotten faster then the last? Or do they put a halt on improvements with a new case design? Is the iPhone 6 not faster than the 5S? Was the 5 not faster than the 4S? Apple adds things in as they become available. They will make improvements every year. They don't just skip a generation and not improve on things because it's not an S model.
Well those Startac phones could be sat on and not break. Not that it would be comfortable to sit on.I'm asking what makes it a bad design?
Can you show me a phone that is designed to be sat on?
True, but I have to question the common sense of anyone that can't figure out that a piece of glass (smartphone) probably shouldn't be sat on.Well those Startac phones could be sat on and not break. Not that it would be comfortable to sit on.
Ya I never understood why you would put a phone in your back pocket to begin with. And then sit on it. Common sense says it's going to break.True, but I have to question the common sense of anyone that can't figure out that a piece of glass (smartphone) probably shouldn't be sat on.
You can blame the design team or....you know...elementary school level physics![]()
Regarding design,
Quick mock-up of how it should look like.

Please don't get rid of the STANDARD headphone jack. I really do NOT to buy proprietary Apple Beats headphones or proprietary Apple Beats adapters. I like my headphones. They work with EVERYTHING!!!
Apple trying to play catch up again - as in Sony's Xperia phones have been waterproof for years. I love my Z3C
Still I'm sure TC will come up with something typically Apple such as 'immerse-able'![]()
