You and me both, but if the rumors do turn out this way, I may have to leave for a couple of years. Just to vote with my wallet. I'll take a look at Samsung (which looks like their next phone will be all screen) or Google.

But the hell that was my experience with Windows Phone is still rather fresh in my memory, and the burn is still not healed.

I was telling someone just last week about my experience. Yeah, I'll try to keep the 6+ running. IF I can... It doesn't look like they will fix the 6s+ anytime soon, maybe...

Can't foresee Apple doing that. Consumers want three screen segments at least: 4", 4.7", 5.5." Why would they want to spend extra $ to get all the features only at the 5.5" area? The 7 vs 7+ involves just a bigger screen (with the higher resolution), dual cameras, and a couple of non-ground breaking features. The experience is more or less the same. Sure, the extra GB of RAM makes a difference, but not to the average consumer because you will not run up your RAM usage and cause the 7+ to stutter. Some people will, but the average person won't.

True, but nothing stops Apple from making a premium 4.7 or 5.5 with curved screens. I never would have thought Apple would make a 10k gold watch, but Timmy did. So who knows, maybe they will make a gold phone for some elite customers

Never fails to amaze me how gullible some on MR are...... It's a RUMOR.... yet some of you get caught hook line and sinker ever time! Man oh man.... I have a bridge to sell some of you.... hit me up in PM if you're interested.

Literally the opposite of what jobs would have done. I hate this Apple.
How do you know what Jobs would have done? You don't, he's dead, move on.

It would almost certainly be the final nail for Cook. He NEEDS to go. The guy is a moron.
A moron that is head of a billion dollar company.... what is it you do again?

This reinforces my decision to get the 7 this year. The OLED is probably in short supply resulting in Apple doing this. I will probably get the iPhone 8s in 2018

This rumour is such a stupid decision , it has to be a decision Timmy took. Fits his modus operandi

Yeah, one of many decisions that has led to Apple becoming one of the biggest tech companies in the world.

You might not like what Apple is doing, but that doesn't mean it's an unreasonable move in its own right.

Yup. It's all about profit making from here on in . Customer be damned . If the 32 GB OLED iPhone price is permanently jacked up to $1000 base I might just get the Galaxy considering the fact that there really aren't that many differentiating features to pay that huge a premium for just a display. It seems Apple is trying to maintain its profits by increasing prices to compensate for falling sales. A thousand dollars is a quarter of my total investment in the Apple ecosystem. That's too much for just a phone

I have a 6 and skipped the 7 because I didn't want another two years of the 6 design. If this rumor turns out to be true I'll have no choice but to move to Android. I'm not paying an extra $200 just to get off the 6 design. Sorry Apple.

...the explosions aren't the worst part. That it runs the mess that's Android is.
If you're going to cut your nose to spite your face, you're doing it right. Use a dull rusty knife! :)
Agreed. I love iOS and have had an iPhone since 3G. It's just getting really tiring waiting for the kind of innovation that used to drive Apple forward.

A product with sky high margins is useless if nobody will buy them. And enough people voted with their wallets to allow the iPhone to siphon anywhere from 91% to 104% of the industry's profits.

I won't try to convince you why the iPhone is worth your time, because you know your needs best. You buy the phone you want, we do likewise, and we will let the market speak for itself.

Rumors are 3 phones so
Iphone 7s and 7s plus similar design
And the 3rd will be iphone pro with completely new design.
Glass back etc oled, camera, wireless charging
At premium price!

In all the line ups they now have pro..
Mac Pro
IPad Pro in 2 sizes!
MacBook Pro
Next will be iPhone Pro

This doesnt change the fact that sales declined.Profits were increased because of higher prices to compensate. Also I was planning on getting the Pixel at one point but because of money spent on the Apple Watch and all of my Mac hardware it was difficult to forgo all that. The 7 costed me almost $100 more and they gave me 32gb for what they used to sell 64.You can only increase the prices for so much to compensate though

This OLED iPhone if it costs $200 more is mainly because of

1.Glass Body
2.Curved Edge OLED of which Samsung is the main supplier
3.Wireless charging

Guess what, that same OLED on the iPhone 8 will no doubt be there on the Galaxy and it would do the same things that the iPhone did for me.I would lose the nice ecosystem but I am not spending over 1K for a phone especially now that Android has matured

Why?! This is 10th anniversary we're speaking of, I cannot believe this is true...
disgusted-oh-god-why-text.png
Why not? I never believed this 10th anniversary crap, as if Apple would target innovation specifically for a meaningless timespan. This is finally a believable rumor, minus the new color option. Red phones don't sell in numbers.

Seriously, are people THAT worried about what the iPhone looks like? As long as it isn't fugly who cares if it has a redesign. What really matters is the internals.

If Apple do bring out an anniversary phone, it will be a special edition that is sold at a price that is even more ludicrous than the current iPhones.

No, even Apple's special editions are meant to be bought by millions and can't be completely different, because that would mean building new factories. Think about the Jet Black iPhone which starts with 128GB minimum for $100 more, that's their special edition to drive up the average selling price.

I can believe anything after what happen with the MacBook Pro!
and this way they can sell the new all glass iPhone for like 300~400$ more than the 7s/7s Plus!

I actually doubt it. The vast majority of iPhone users don't follow Apple news and rumors. Maybe for people on this forum (who find almost anything to complain about) but most people will keep buying regardless. The iPhone 7 is proof.

Yes. But people will notice when they're being asked to pay ever rising prices for the same phone. You'll be surprised how many consumers choose their new phone based on it being different and new. People who aren't bothered about eco system or OS.

He's a moron who is wrong for the company. Boring and uncreative.

Donald Trump is/was head of a billion dollar company and he's a moron too.

Which is already over priced. They'll continue to raise prices to disguise dropping sales, which will start happening more rapidly if they continue as they are. Cook is a numbers guy, he'll do anything to make sure the figures are good.

Apple will release updated versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus next year, aptly called the "iPhone 7s" and "iPhone 7s Plus," according to Japanese blog Mac Otakara.

The report claims the smartphones will retain the same aluminum design as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, with only internal changes, including the addition of a faster A11 chip.

The report added it is highly probable the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will come in an all-new red color alongside current Black, Jet Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver options.

Multiple rumors suggest Apple plans to release three new iPhone models next year, including updated 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models with traditional LCD displays and a larger premium model with an OLED display and glass casing, but reports have been conflicting about which features will be included on each model.

If this report is accurate, it could signify Apple's plans to release a completely overhauled glass-backed iPhone with a curved, bezel-free OLED display and wireless charging at the high end of its 2017 smartphone lineup, while making only incremental upgrades to its traditional 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones with LCD displays.

An earlier report from Japanese website Nikkei Asian Review said Apple plans to release three glass-backed iPhones next year, while it was said the 4.7-inch iPhone would get wireless charging, so there remains a lack of consensus among rumors--perhaps unsurprising given new iPhones are likely over nine months away.

Mac Otakara was first to report about Apple's plans to remove the headphone jack and add a new Jet Black color for the iPhone 7 lineup, but its track record is not perfect. Its rumor from November about Apple adding a "Jet White" color for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has also yet to materialize.

Article Link: 'iPhone 7s' and 'iPhone 7s Plus' Said to Come in All-New Red Color, Lack New Design and Wireless Charging
For the first time this year Apple has updated the previous year device by bringing the 6S to 32GB. It's possible that they do the same thing next year with a change of name and a new colour.

We could have :
iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus (Wrap around screen, glass back, wireless charging)
iPhone 7S & iPhone 7S Plus (Limited changes, mainly new colour)
iPhone SE2 (iPhone 7 internals)

Why not streamlining the product line with just one iPhone model? 5.5 inches in a smaller form factor. Then update the SE for the lower end of the market...
