This. The 8 is overpriced. The X is ludicrously overpriced and that is such a shame.

I was very keen on the X until the onstage demo and then they showed what full screen video looks like... no thanks.

Sadly though we all know next years version that MAY fix the notch issues and touch id will be EVEN MORE crazily priced than the X.

What are the notch issues? I think if anything Apple could make a setting in software to hide the 'ears' and bam... problem solved if it bothers you at all.
[doublepost=1506375944][/doublepost]If the supply constraint issues are true, we may want to order multiple iPhone Xs to sell on Ebay.

How come the iPhone 6 Plus is missing from this data? I somehow doubt there are less in use than the iPhone 4.

I still have my launch day 6 Plus and really don’t see the need to upgrade

I reached out to Localytics and they told me the iPhone 6 Plus was left out by mistake.

They provided me with an updated chart:

upload_2017-9-25_18-11-43.png

Smashed my 7plus as it was a piece of ****, Apple has lost me for a while. Switched to the S8+ and wow. Seamless and it is a gorgeous phone....something the X is mimicking to the T.

I was a hard core fan up until the 7plus apple everything ...now until they get cook out I wont wast my money.

In all fairness he is very good at driving down stock!

My reason for waiting for the release of the iPhone X is purely because I do not know the price of the price of the monthly plan that my Phone Company will offer for this device.

If I can get a monthly plan I can manage then I will get an iPhone X, otherwise I will just get the iPhone 8 Plus.

So if it's true that the 'X' is going to be late, and when it does ship, it will be in very small numbers, this is going to leave a lot of people feeling very sad going into the next year. This could be a disaster for Apple. ;-)

Well, looking at the graph it seems there’s a downard trend is all. Let’s hope the X reinvigorates the market.

Maybe. I’m not fussed if iPhones aren’t popular, or if android is winning, or if Apple is winning. It’s just a really useful phone :) spent all night wandering the nearest city with my partner taking photos of it all. I tell ya, it’s incredible for night/dark shots. Way beyond what I expected from a telephone camera!

For anyone wonders why iPhone sales are slow....

Even the iPhone 7 not even the 7 plus is more expensive over here. The iPhone 8 comes in even more expensive Makes me wonder what the iPhone X will be

This is in Europe and the same goes in china and India. No wonder I see less and less iPhones. It’s sad but Apple really isn’t competitive anymore

i don't understand those words on the images but as far as i can gather..

iPhone:
toestelkosten €384

S8:
toestelkosten €490

?

(that said, i assume you meant to show some other iPhone image instead of nearly duplicate s8 images? )

I think its probably the best of the design. Looks the same but it is the finely tuned version. All kinks are worked out

If it had a headphone jack I would have bought one already. That's the only thing missing in my opinion.

This could be a material dent in Apple's profitability if the Xs supply is as seriously constrained as thought... Even worse would be if people are simply being turned off by the price hike for an immaterial upgrade when they have 'good enough' phones and Apple simply loses sales, could the rot be beginning to set in a la iPad sales?

They also quietly hiked the price for the iPad Pro. The base model stayed the same, but all of the others went up by $50. I was going to buy an iPad soonish to replace my aging iPad 4. But it's a pretty big turn off to have the price for the exact same product suddenly be $50 more expensive. Apple could have drained my wallet this year by simply including a headphone jack in the iPhone 8 (7S) and leaving the iPad pricing alone. But instead they can just do without my money on those things this year. Instead, the only thing I will be buying is the AppleTV 4K since I just bought a 4K tv 2 months back and am still rocking my 720p ATV2.

For the 256 x, from ATT it’s going to be $47.88 a month. But they added a down payment now. You can put down whatever u want to make the payments Cheaper and won’t have to make 12 to upgrade. Example, if I put $100 down my Payments go to $35 a month and I only have to pay 11 payments before I can upgrade. Which I am def going to do! Do a test run, act like ur going to buy the 8 plus and it will give u an idea!

No one wants a four-year-old giant bezel design? Shocking
What’s worse is that Apple still keeps the 2nd and 3rd iterations of that design on sale and they look (if not function) the same as the 8.

Too much bifurcation in the iPhone lineup at the moment. I’m sitting out this cycle with my 6S.

iPhone X is there and will sell, but I'm concerned about the future iPhones, will there be 2 versions again? if not what will happen to pricing? $1000 become the norm?

Two versions? The 6 and 7 models are still available. And why complain about what youpersoanlly can't afford?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but these results are completely irrelevant with regards to the iPhone 8/+.

If you roughly equate these to sales figures then its not good news for the 8. They haven't got as many into peoples hands as previous iPhones have managed and they have probably reached most of their buyers.

Apple will sell a ginormous amount of the 8 and make a fat profit. They will sell a humongous number of the X and make an outlandish amount of moola.

Apple doesn't build and market and sell its products now without already knowing how much money it will earn. Apple already knows how much money you have and what you're going to buy, too.

Of course they don't. The have projections and can guess very well but they have no idea ultimately. Especially since this is a completely unprecedented iPhone launch. They have never released a £1000 phone before and they have never tried to release 3 new phones in one go and they have never tried releasing their normal 2 phones in the shadow of a really expensive one.

Nothing about this launch in normal and apple have no idea how it will go.

I don't like Tim Cook much either, but the reality is that Apple stock has more than doubled since he became CEO.

It seems that consumers have caught onto the fact that Apple is selling pretty much the same phone for the 4th straight year now with nothing truly new or innovative about it.

The only thing that Apple has going for it now honestly is the ecosystem and software. Their hardware designs are no longer cutting edge.

Better cameras, portrait mode, super fast processors, an unrivaled ecosystem of unique apps. But if it's not 100% insanely different, it's pretty much the same phone for you.

This is an accurate concern. There is simply no data to suggest “customers are waiting for the X”. Given that iPhone 7 sales declined from past years, we just don’t know the cause of lowers iPhone 8 sales yet.
I personally think this chart is bs. Apple sold 3 million more iPhones during opening weekend 2015 than they did opening weekend 2014, yet this chart shows a steady decline in new iPhone use every year since 2014. All this chart is saying to me is that every year less and less people are using apps integrated with the Localytics SDK. Plain and simple...

That was just it. A few people on the forums were expecting the notch to be almost invisible due to software but the on stage reveal made it a thing instead.

The main issue for me is the way it cuts into video. That plus the rounded corners, unlock issues and vast price tag put me off completely.

To be honest, I wouldn't even get an X second hand whereas I would have an 8+.

lol read again,6 and 7?
By 2 versions I meant 2 different flagships on each launch from now on.
Also what made you think I cannot afford it are you 12?
I can afford X,but I may or nay not buy it,depends if I like it ir not when I demo it at store.
I don’t just buy things like idiots just because they are new.it all depends if it impresses me or not.
My comment was not about me personally but as general.

I would suggest that if your primary reason for upgrading is the camera, then go for the 7 Plus at least. Otherwise, stay with what you have. The SE is a great phone with the perfect size to fit in my pocket (just that sometimes I have trouble seeing the screen). If I was to upgrade, I would get the 8 Plus, primarily for the camera and display. I’ll just need bigger pockets.

Nope primary reason to upgrade is memory. A series of unfortunate events landed me with a 16 GB iphone 6 earlier this year. So, whichever phone I buy, I will get a better camera.
