Great journalism effort MR getting unreleased footage of Schiller, Cook, Cue, and Ive practicing their presentation for Tuesday's event.

BTW is Apple planning on releasing a "My First iPhone" for the kindergarten set? Sure looks it.

The sheer amount of features on the iPhone 8 is making the 7S look more and more like lower end product with every coming leak.

3D emoji ?

Truth be told , not a single feature announced is making 7S look lower end.

I guess the more accurate description would be, the amount of gimmicks in the 8 might get people to upgrade.

Though....when looking at accessibility and useability, 7S with the touchid may well be a much better device. I used the Samsung S8 for 2 weeks, and my iPhone 6S was a much better user experience based on the touchid alone

I guess I'm alone, but I think it looks pretty cool. I love the added focus on Messages recently. iMessage was very boring. Now my mom sends me GIFS of cats and s***.

Well, Apple has to justify the vast premium of the iPhone 8 somehow.

Seems like this animoji could become some sort of status symbol? If presumably only people with the iPhone 8 can create and send them? Will other users on iOS 11 still be able to select them from the keyboard?

The day having animoji becomes a status sysmbol for high end tech and branding , we get a problem.

Sounds like a gimmick

The sheer amount of emojis these days is discouraging me to use them.
Looking through all of them for a fitting one is not worth the hassle so I just go with a recent one or even more often just don't.
iOS 10 lets you type the name of the emoji and predictive typing then offers a selection of icons. If you're not using predictive typing, then you're out of luck. Furthermore, we all have an "emoji footprint", that is, 10 to 20 icons that we use regularly, and that selection is available at the ready at the far left of the list, under "favorites".

Am I the only one who doesn't care about this f****** Emoji stuff but the security of Face ID?

Ooooooooo NEW EMOJI's!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Actually I am kidding, but the following poster is correct. This Emoji feature will sell iPhones if Apple is the only one to have it for a while. Security only becomes important if your phone is lost or stolen or hacked and if hacked, you find out about it. People should care about security features but they don't.

No kidding, this is going to sell iPhones.

I honestly do believe you are correct.

There has to be a line. How are we going to cope in a few years when we have 6000 emojis to use.

Not even really sure how they will sell the 7s at this point unless the price is really compelling. Might as well just keep the 7 and drop the price.

While 3D emojis may not appeal the technology behind this is great. The 3D facial recognition system is going to be the best out there.

Unless there is only $100 difference between the 7s Plus and the iPhone Emoji edition-sorry, iPhone 8- a lot of people won't have much choice. Unless wireless providers subsidize the phone many can't afford it.

Stupid **** like this is actually making me look at the Note 8. And I hate Android.
You will only be delaying the inevitable. Android too will be infected.

All this and still no updated Mac Mini

:(:apple::(
I'm wondering if the iPad is Apple's replacement for the Mac Mini. With iOS 11, it's more capable. And it's about the same price. The Mini acted as Apple's server replacement. It's worked well for that purpose, but with High Sierra there are rumors that imaging and deployment will no longer be an option. If so, then the Mini has less of a reason for being in Apple's line-up. After five years with no update, I don't think the Mini will be around much longer

But I'm happy to be proven wrong. ;)

So now when I’m trying really hard to squeeze a poop out, I can send my friends a poop emoji squinting really hard.

Many many animated turds coming our way (I know because that’s all I’ll be sending).

The ‘squeezing one out’ turd

It seems like every part of this keynote has had its thunder stolen. I know some people suspect leaks are always instigated by Apple - and no doubt some are - but suspect there are some very shocked and disappointed execs there right now. I really enjoy reading the rumours but I can't help feeling that the wealth of information this year will detract from the launch.
Stay off rumor sites then. The majority of the population knows nothing about this....

Ohh-kayyy....

Hopefully, there are also features for the less "emoji-nal" of us.

As for 16y olds with 1k iPhones - a lot of parents (esp. if both of them have full-time jobs), carry a lot of guilt with them about this. That's how 16y old end up with 1k iPhones...
