It’s impossible to get a perfect phone. So let that expectation go. There will be something ever so slightly off on every phone. You may not notice it. But it’s there.
and it begins....
I looked at all 4 photos side by side and couldn’t find a thing wrong. And I’m insanely meticulous about my devices.LOL... no kidding.
What exactly is OP complaining about?
Its clearly there.I looked at all 4 photos side by side and couldn’t find a thing wrong. And I’m insanely meticulous about my devices.
No. The lighting of the photos are not consistent. One side is clearly more lit than the other which can exaggerate an issue. In addition, the angles of the photos are completely different. The side with the gap is held towards the camera while the side without is pushed away. Again changing the perception. I once found a needle point sized scratch on the front camera lens. Trust me, I’m meticulous. Its clearly there.
Maybe you are not as meticulous as you think
A needle point scratch is pretty big and noticable lol.No. The lighting of the photos are not consistent. One side is clearly more lit than the other which can exaggerate an issue. I once found a needle point sized scratch on the front camera lens. Trust me, I’m meticulous.
What needles are you using? It’s a pin tip. My needles are less than .2mm. That’s 2-3 human hairs.A needle point scratch is pretty big and noticable lol.
I think you could find something like this on every phone you're sent if you analyze it enough.
Thats hugeWhat needles are you using? It’s a pin tip. My needles are less than .2mm. That’s 2-3 human hairs.
Yeah okay.Thats huge
Yeah okay.![]()
LOL...
Where you work in precision do you just hold whatever the product is a few feet from your eyes and say "yep, looks good"? Zoom 2x on the pic of the top right rear of his phone and honestly tell me you don't see that gap.... and I'm sure some of the people in this thread will do exactly that.
Sorry... I didn't see an issue... and I work in precision machining where parts can be rejected for being .002 inches too large.
We'll see what mine looks like when it arrives this afternoon.

Exactly my thoughts. You are not buying some £20 phone from a supermarket you are buying a 'premium' device close to £1000 so therefore it's perfectly acceptable to demand a flawless product. The gap is noticeable and I didn't even have to zoom in to see it. It's clearly not meant to be there or else the other side would be the Same.OP, how dare you enter the realm of Apple enthusiasts/apologists and claim that your magical device is somehow flawed! Shame. SHAME! We demand that you ignore that gap.
OK that was my sarcasm, here's the real response:
OP, I see the gap. It's not super noticeable at first glance, but simply zooming on the picture of the rear top-right of your phone clearly shows the gap. If I were you I would contact Apple and see if they will swap it out. Someone above said that you should not expect your iPhone to be perfect because nothing is perfect. I could not disagree with that more. We pay a premium for these Apple devices and the devices should be premium in turn. It's funny that on a website where the god figure is Steve Jobs, a man famous for his attention to detail, people can have the attitude of "meh, nothing is perfect."

Reread my post from earlier where I clearly pointed out that lighting situations can fool you. The lighting is not consistent between images. In addition, the side that OP says there is a gap is tilted towards the camera, while the side that has no gap is tilted away from the camera. These are all valid variables that alter one’s perception of the issue.I mean i dont get what you guys are trying to prove here. Saying you are meticulous, and work in this industry for precise machining, but say you dont notice the issue the OP is having.
So if you dont notice what the issue is then you are not as meticulous as you think you are.

Just had my iPhone 8 Plus delivered and happy for the most part. Only issue I have is that if you look at the phone the left top seems to have a little more gap between the glass and the aluminium than the right top , don't know if that would decrease its waterproofness? I don't plan on getting it wet but you can never say never. 4k 60fps video seems good quality!
