If true, I'll probably just use my 6 until it dies.
$1k? Yikes. At least they're not offering 32GB anymore. That storage size is barely adequate in 2017.
The reason why Apple can do this today is because no one, except the handful of suckers who buy unlocked at full retail and think they are beating the system, will see it as $1000. It is $49/mon for 12 months, then trade up and continue.
increase the bill of materials by over $70, which we expect Apple to offset via a $130 price increase
You would be surprised but market research companies do exactly this.I assure you Apple does not do pricing research off internet forums.![]()
My $649 iPhone 7 is $32 a month in the iUP program, so I think 50% more at around $49 or so sounds about right for a $1,000 iPhone. Not saying that's a bargain or anything, but I think it would pencil out to around that $49 mentioned. At that price it won't be $49 more like $69-$79/month.
THERE'S A REASON THEY'RE THE RICHEST COMPANY IN THE WORLD.I think i will continue to use my iPhone 5s. I have given a lot of money to Apple over the years (i started with the Mac Classic) but don't see a need to buy this proposed device that costs 1,000 dollars. Over time, Apple has learned how to produce these products for less money. In most normal businesses the manufactures lower the cost to customers as manufacturing costs decrease. while Apple makes a great product, it does not mean that we need to spend this kind of money for it. I am receiving no benefit from that huge new headquarters, I see no reason to fund its construction.

I wouldn't be surprised, I know market research companies do this. Apple, famously, makes very little use of such companies. You would be surprised but market research companies do exactly this.
A properly placed fingerprint scanner! So I can get a Galaxy S8 with facial scanning, OLED, wireless charging, and minimum bezels for $300 dollars less and the s8 is selling in record numbers. And most of these features Samsung has last year...
What exactly is the next iPhone bringing to make it worth that much more?
Why don't you people wait and see the next iPhones features, AND declared price tag (rather than ****ing rumors) before being so damn cynical about it?So I can get a Galaxy S8 with facial scanning, OLED, wireless charging, and minimum bezels for $300 dollars less and the s8 is selling in record numbers.
