please no. Don't ruin the only one handed phone they offer.

I never could. I had a 6s for a while. too slippery and large for one handed use. Went to the SE and have never looked back. I love its usability.

Going from a plus to the 4.7 is an easy one handed device, I know it's the opposite if you're using a 4". I can't use my son's 5S I keep typing mistakes!

Sometimes I just can’t understand the way other people think about money. $350 more for a device that I plan on keeping for at least 2 years and is radically different/upgraded, when the cheaper device already costs $700 makes absolutely no sense to me. That $350 or £300 over 24 month comes out to less than $15 a month. It’s not even a debate for me, if I’m already spending over $700 and financing it I’d rather pay the $1000 for the flagship model.

Some of us will buy the Phone outright. I think in this case the iPhone 8 is easily the best value proposition. In 2-3 years, Apple will have a newer phone better than the X.

2-3 years? Apple will have something better than the X in 12 months. But at least my phone will be the latest for that period of time, whereas your iPhone 8 was outdated and replaced by something better as soon as you bought it.

The iPhone 8 should have never been released just like the 5c. The X drew an X on the 8. There is too much overlap and what's the point paying another $700 for a HD iPhone? Less RAM at only 2 GB. No Telephoto. Smallest battery with lowest endurance. X forever killed off 4.7" iPhones.

Entry level - SE/compact series but Apple will only update it every two years.

Mid-level - The current LCD models. The X is currently for the extravagant spending like people who spent $600 for a PS3 or $3000 for a MBP last year but the X (5.8") will reach this point once Apple phases out LCD models within two years.

Premium flagship - This is where the XL model will dethrone the current X within 10 months. Samsung does the same thing between their Galaxy S vs Note and LG does the same with G-series vs V-series. This will go for a minimum $1099+ for the base model. It will offer more RAM and longest endurance again. Might even include PiP, split-view, and homescreen landscape mode again.

And X is the new iPad 1. Too thick and heavy for its size, too slow to unlock, too new to be polished, too old fashioned with massive side bezels compared to e.g. S8/Note 8 and still waiting for developers.
Says someone who doesn’t own the X. FaceID unlocks as quickly in real life since I can look while I’m reaching for the bottom of the phone. The screen is great. Apple could have made an edge screen. It was a conscious decision not to, and that isn’t going to change soon.

This is bigger than than the iPhone 4 or 6, which were huge.

The 5c was a cost play. The 5’s case was difficult to make so rather than carry over the 5 when the 5s was released they produced the 5c.

I think the 8 was a hedge. They knew a $1000 phone would be out of reach for some.

Those other smartphones were unveiled months after Kuo's prediction. Even if he was wrong about that, it doesn't take away from my overall point. He nailed the X.
also they make huge phones with big screens so the screen to body ratio is higher although the bezels are bigger compared to the iphone.

However I am saving almost $500 and still buying a new phone.
