How so? The cut out is to make room for the camera/sensor.I actually don't mind the cutout. Cool things can be displayed constantly like time, battery, and 4G connectivity while using apps in fullscreen.

OMG that cutout is WORSE than a (small) bezel
Top left and right-hand sides are open screen. How so? The cut out is to make room for the camera/sensor.

That upper ^^^^^^^^ camera and earpiece grill cutout from display looks ugly to be honest. Other wise the Render looks fantastic.

This will be huge win win for me. Never liked the rear touch id![]()

Apple cant stay still and look at the past. This upgrade is as big as the move to 4.7 and 5.5. A move that was required. My other thought is with an all screen front, you lose the iconic iPhone design and the glyph / outline that is used as a symbol for iPhone. Funny as since the original the front outline of the iPhone has essentially always been the same and recognizable.

I really hope you are correct. That front definitely does not look like a true edge-to-edge display to me. There appears to still be a thin bezel around the outside of it.The front is not 100% accurate but regardless, it's interesting to see the size comparisons.
Camera and FPS under the glass would be a big in for apple. Something they would brag about for sure.I recall Apple having a patent for hiding the front facing camera behind the screen. I think this is what we might see - the camera will become visible when in use, and somehow blend into the display when it is not needed. No way is Apple going to make the same mistake the Essential phone did.

Awarded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple's U.S. Patent No. 9,543,364 for "Electronic devices having displays with openings" describes a method by which various components can be mounted behind perforations in a device screen that are so small as to be imperceptible to the human eye. This arrangement would allow engineers to design a smartphone or tablet with a true edge-to-edge, or "full face," display.
Considering the bezel on the bottom it would look nice just to lower the screen and put the camera on top.The Essential phone by Android creator Andy Rubin has a cutout at the top of the screen. It has had a positive reception to the looks.

Its looking more and more like apple may call it the edition.
Not in the Android Police comments, it hasn't!
