Am I the only one who is really freaked out by this facial recognition rumour? So, all anyone has to do to unlock my iPhone is point it in my face? Or worse a photo of me?
The iPhone 7 not haveing a tactile (I assume you mean a physically moving button) home button would indicate against that.home button better be tactile (and not just vibrations). or else this is going to be a big design fail.
What is the harm to fill in the black space currently to the right and left of the home button with a screen with extra controls? It doesn't have any screen space now, so no screen space is lost. Sure, having additional controls there (on top of the home button) could make the UI more confusing but it could also improve things. Without having seen (and used) the actual device, it isn't really possible to say which of the two it will be.So the bottom part of the screen will basically be used as a touch pad? That will confuse alot of people and eat up screen space. Not sure about this ..
a) My nephews are pretty good at pointing my thumb onto the home button of my iPhone.Am I the only one who is really freaked out by this facial recognition rumour? So, all anyone has to do to unlock my iPhone is point it in my face? Or worse a photo of me?
He is looking at prototype models including prototype hardware from suppliers. It is thus quite possible that he hears of different designs tried by Apple with Apple later deciding to only go forward with some of the options they tried out. This far out, Kuo's predictions aren't that good. A few months prior I'll start listening to his predictions.
Last year he kept harping on three iPhone models with one having a dual-camera and one being plus sized with a single camera. Didn't make sense, and it didn't come to be.
Nah, the UI won't be more confusing. Android users have been used to it for years. I personally don't like it, which is why I go with Samsung's S series phones. But it's nowhere near confusing. What is the harm to fill in the black space currently to the right and left of the home button with a screen with extra controls? So if you want a big phone, you are stuck with a 4 year old design? How is that good?
5.15" effective screen size (possibly even a bit more if parts of the current control UI could be moved to the bottom part) is, in current iPhone terms, a biggish phone (with Apple currently offering 4, 4.7, and 5.5").So if you want a big phone, you are stuck with a 4 year old design? How is that good?
That's the million dollar question.Wait so the screen won't really be 5.8 Inch?
Meaning you can use any USB-C cable instead of needing a USB-C to Lightning cable.Unfortunately I'll still use my Nexus 6p since it's USB-C is more compatible with my 2016 MBP.
no. i meant a home button that has a feel so i don't need to look at the home button before pressing it.The iPhone 7 not haveing a tactile (I assume you mean a physically moving button) home button would indicate against that.
