While I would prefer the entire bottom bezel to be the button, this is the best implementation of a virtual home button (now presumably with other buttons). The appearance of this might be a bit strange but I suppose it depends on the look of the rest of the device.

These rumours are so confusing but they're being reported by a number of sources, so there must be some truth to them (unless they're all jumping on the bandwagon).
But now we see some actual geometry put on the rumours of screen size diagonal. I see this as progress.

I just can't see a scenario where one of three(?) new iPhones is truly new and the others are like a 7s. That would be a hugely confusing and fragmented product launch and product line
Can you see a scenario where Apple is releasing a new 4" iPhone in 2016 that has a completely different industrial design than the iPhone 6 and 6s released in 2014 and 2015?

Apple leaks to Kuo. Kuo leaks a rumor. Price is estimated to be over 1000$. Kuo rearranges the rumor. Price is expected to be over 1000$. People get used to the expectation. The phone costs 1.199$. Kuo is rewarded.
And as with the iPad which was rumoured to cost $1000, Apple creates positive vibes by releasing the iPhone 8 at $800.

no. i meant a home button that has a feel so i don't need to look at the home button before pressing it.
Ie, something like an indentation?

So if I go with the bigger device that will be the Plus equivalent, I'm going to have LESS screen real estate than I currently have now? Am I missing something here?

5.5-inch in a 4.7-inch package...... now that's the good stuff.. A bezel-less phone, and i suppose that means the front facing camera will be behind the screen then as well. I see no hole for the camera lens... How will people know what to look for.?

I can't image Apple loosing the front facing camera.... They'd be a breakdown from people unable to take selfies. (literally)

Seems the 5.15" usable area would be smaller than the usable 5.5" area of the 7plus. Am I missing something? It would be hard to transition to a smaller screen now that I've gotten used to the plus one.
It won't be hard to transition to the larger area coming from a 4.7" iPhone.
Ideally the usable area remains the same in a form factor that is slight smaller package than the 7plus. That to me would be a huge win.
Instead of getting a smaller phone with the same useable area, you are getting the same-sized phone with a larger useable area (which next year will be extended to the larger model). Ie, the line-up will be 5.15" useable area (in the 4.7" physical size) and about 6" useable area (in the 5.5" physical size). Yep, that sucks for somebody who would have preferred something between 5.15 and 6" (or somebody who would have preferred a physical size between the current 4.7" and 5.5" models). But in the end, the only way to make everybody happy would have been for Apple to make a 5.15", a 5.5" and 6" useable area phone. Unfortunately, Apple decided to only offer two phone size (excluding the 4" SE, and the legacy 4.7" and 5.5" sizes).

iPhone 7 has a bump so i don't need to search for it to press it.
I wonder if they could a groove or notch at the bottom of the screen, helping you to centre your thumb.

I wonder if that also then means, Apple will bring this same edge-to-edge to the SE and all other phones getting updated models. There's gotta be one that still has the 'old style' look because it needs to be a budget phone. right ?

What is truly shocking to me is that people will believe Apple should be charging a ridiculous price for this "new hardware." It was different back when Apple had the cutting edge hardware. There was a reason for that premium price. But today? Lol, yeah sure.

Then you need the 5.5 which will still be available according to the rumour.

I'm not convinced because it ruins the symmetry of the device; it would be weird to use it in landscape mode where your main screen is off to one side. This was also why the much-rumoured tear-drop design was a non-starter.

I also find it hard to believe the the alternative biometric options will work better than the finger sensor. Currently you can authenticate pretty much by just picking up the phone.

I'm not sure I buy this. If the OLED iPhone (8 or Pro or whatever) will be the only available in the smaller physical size, that seems lame. I got the iPhone 7plus this year and I really like the larger size of the device. I have big hands and it's great. I don't really want to go back to a smaller sized phone, even if the screen is bigger within that size. Also, didn't Apple sell an unexpectedly large number of 7plus's this year? I can't see them not making the big phone with the high-end specs. But I could be wrong.

Also, I LIKE the physical button. Easy to find and press without looking at the phone as I pull it from my pocket.

Also also, where will the front facing camera go and the hole for the ear speaker if there are no bezels?

So what will be resolution of so called OLED phone? And it must match existing aspect ratios otherwise developers need to resize graphics on all apps. And can same version of ios handle different unlock options for different phones?

Until recently, the smaller physical size represented about 85% of all (non-SE) iPhones. The iPhone 7 shifted that a bit, with the larger size making up maybe up to 25%. So, introducing it at that size makes some commercial sense.

How would other people feel about having the home button/Touch ID incorporated into the Apple logo on the back of iPhone?

I know other manufacturers have their fingerprint sensors built into the back and Apple would be accused of copying the competition but at least it'd be reliable.

I have a lazy right eye so Iris recognition would be useless to me.

The S7 edge was also more expensive than the plain S7.

I'd say it will certainly get the 3x resolution of the current Plus models (whether it gets exactly the same dpi is another questions).

enough with the dam iphone 8 talk i bet there will only be a 7s and 7s plus all this hype makes the phone not look good when it doesnt have what they think, its months away just chill out and enjoy the 7 and wait for apple to officially announce the next one, so bored of these stupid rumours
