The Air is impressive but obviously a Gen 1 product. Next iteration they’ll have two cameras and stereo speakers and they’ll sell it as a revolution and I’m gonna get it then.
Yeah I decided gonna keep my 16 pro till next year, after going in store, if I am going bigger as in taller/wider, I at least want similar speakers and 2 cameras.
Don't get on with max size phones.

I got the 17PM and my wife got the Air. The Air is amazing. I'm thrilled with my PM, but damn, the Air is nice. Might go for it next time I upgrade.

It is a bit tinny and max volume is lower than my 16p by maybe 10-20%. I did speaker calls on both and they weren’t drastically different though. It’s definitely more apparently with music. But this wasn’t in a noisy environment. I was on instagram for about 20 minutes on it and max volume was too loud for me at home. I’m comfortable using it at 50-60%.
Then I need to check mine because mine is LOW and I made sure it was high. It's like half the volume of my 16PM at full blast.

I checked out the air today. I did like it. Felt very good in the hand, and I like the screen size.

However i didnt think the form factor was impressive enough to warrant the trade offs and reduced battery life. In other words it was a nice form factor but it didnt wow me. I made the right choice going with the 17 Pro.
will you miss the screen size?

I had the chance to have a look in person today, they are soooo pretty!!! They feel really solid and premium, the gold colour is really similar to the white one, it looks like vanilla ice cream. I would have gotten that gold colour one! IMO air feels more premium compared to this year's Pros due to pro being aluminium.

So, after 8-ish hours with the Air... I'm pretty impressed.

No compromises on screen tech/quality, I actually like the size (sweet spot between Pro and Pro Max), playing with the camera gave me some surprisingly decent shots, and the delight of carrying it around, having it feel weightless in my hand while playing a game or scrolling through email... wow. Just nothing like it in an iPhone that I can remember. (I've had every model, or every other model, since the 4.)

Battery is the big question, but early testing looks encouraging and I'm not a heavy user, spend time at a desk intermittently through the day so can easily charge. I suspect it will only come up when I travel, and that's when a travel charge/bank comes in.

Are all airs made in china? I thought i read some were going to be made in india
Rumors are that all 4 models are being manufactured in India (as well as China) for the first time ever.

So far, we’ve yet to see any sold that are from India. If they’re out there, we haven’t seen them yet!

Just use AirPods/bluetooth etc etc. Nah the speakers are there for a reason. Speakerphone, sharing content, playing something on the fly. The next iteration of the air will 100% have dual speakers.

To be honest I do just use AirPods all the time so it doesn't bother me at all.

The only times the speaker on mine gets used are very incidental to the point it doesn't matter. Speakerphone is mono anyway so extra speakers don't really help.

I still hope they manage to put the second speaker back in eventually, but this wasn't a factor for me at all.

For a long time, I was an early adopter of new iPhones. The last several years have left me feeling “meh” and, as a result, I haven’t upgraded since my iPhone 13 Pro (still a great phone). However, for the first time in 4 years, the new iPhone just grabbed my attention. The iPhone Air. 6.5 inches and THIN! I impulsively preordered it and got it today. I’m really, really impressed. It’s beautiful, light and comfortable. There are a couple of compromises like only one speaker and no macro lens. But, early impressions are that this phone is excellent and a joy to use. A feeling I hadn’t gotten from the iPhone since, maybe, the iPhone 5. It’s not a world beater but I have zero regrets. Even sprung for 512GB. Crazy. A HALF A TERABYTE of memory on a phone! It’s still finishing indexing and settling in so, I’ll get a feel for battery life in a week or so. Regardless, if you’re on the fence, now’s the time to upgrade it you’re been holding out for something more special than an incremental update.

I love that I am still able to get that “wow, what a cool new iPhone design!” feeling.

I got the sky blue as I feel like the black kind of hides how thin it looks!

Got my Air in blue today, my wife calls the color “blue ice” because it is very subtle. Phone ran pretty warm for the first 4-6 hours during setup, transferring all the data and I also assume indexing.

I’m coming from a 14 pro and the phone is noticeably snappier. Screen size is about perfect for getting to the maximum size for my medium sized hands and having one hand operation still be possible. Screen color temp much cooler than my previous iPhone, not really happy about that but I will live.

Wireless connectivity with 6e/7 on my 160mhz mesh APs is pretty phenomenal. I was hitting about 900mbps which is close to max on my internet connection.

Battery got the crap beat out of it but didn’t seem to drain any more quickly than my 14pro which has a recently replaced battery.

Hate the look of the new iOS just hate it.

Love how it disappears in my pocket.

I am worried I will drop it so I bought a bumper. Also bought the magsafe battery which I won’t need regularly but will come in handy on long trip days and also handy for charging Airpods.

Overall pretty satisfied, was a bit nervous it would feel underpowered but nope.

My phone came with 67% and it’ll probably hit 5 hours screen time before it’s depleted. Better than I expected for the first day (setup, indexing and heavy usage).

I feel like setup/indexing on my phone is taking way longer than it should, it says it’s still doing so in the battery menu. It’s been more than 12h.

Delighted with everything - yes, including the speaker and the battery (first few days indexing also being factored in). The design and in-hand feel is just extraordinary and I've said this before but it's like the original iPod nano and iPhone X had a baby.

The front camera on zoom out mode works as a decent ultra wide alternative for any subject. I am, however, on the fence about whether I'm going to miss that Telephoto lens - if anything was to cause me to go back to the Pro it would be that.

Overall though I couldn't be happier and think it's something you have to experience to fully understand.
