That could be. I did set up the Air using my 16PM.I think the AoD is defaulted to off on the Air. At least when I got mine it was off.

Love the Air
My only disappointment? Apple’s claims on the glass are simply not true. In pocket, on desk - nothing unusual.. and the screen is scuffed quite noticeably - bad one near the front camera and a bunch in one corner
So it turns out screen protectors are still absolutely needful if you want the glass to stay scuff-free
I have the apple clear case on mine and no front screen protector and have been carrying it in my front pocket along with a plastic medication bottle since Friday when I received it and no scuffs or marks on the screen.Love the Air

You might consider taking one from the same distance focused on the label on the back, it is illegible which is not great even with no macro, but I assume the focus was elsewhere for whatever reason.Just used my camera app on my iPhone Air. I changed the focus point to the titanium frame and the camera adjusted automatically presenting that view. If you see in the previous picture the screen is clear and you can see my glass clearly but the titanium frame is blurred.
If I am not mistaken, Apple claims that the screen and body of the Air are stronger and more resistant to breaking / shattering. At this point in time, the screen cannot be scratch-proof and shatter-proof.Love the Air

I just snapped a panoramic photo of my back yard in the twilight (7:40pm) and here's the result. Thanks, this is helpful. Did you take any photos that were not in great lighting? My decision as to whether or not to keep the Ait is largely going to come down to the camera question.
I think the Air pic looks fine for capturing the moment and who knows, maybe inserting the pic in your journal to complete a memory.Top pic taken Sat 9/13 with my 16P

I did find myself missing the UW for catching more of the treeline fall color after the sun had fully risen, but I am happy with the main camera! (I run to the lake so a dedicated camera isn’t practical for that.)

That’s interesting. Did you have anything in your pocket? This screen seems to be the most scratch resistant so far according to jerryrigeverything

I’m 50/50 I’d say?! Love how it feels and the (lack of) weight in the pocket of my running shorts is awesome (yes, even an ounce less is noticeable in a tight pocket 😄), but I do worry I’ll miss ultrawide and macro. I sell quite a bit online as a hobby and I do utilize macro for some things but I am not sure that is a dealbreaker. But on the flip side, I’m not sure the Air is worth $200 more than the base 17, which is what I originally ordered so I went ahead and picked it up too “just in case.” I haven’t opened that yet but I know the familiarity is there since I’ve always bounced back and forth each year between the Pro and base models. I am torn between familiarity and the novelty I guess 🙃@jenjen80 Do you see yourself keeping your new Air?
Thanks for the honest reply. Have you given thought to possibly keeping both to use as the need / want arises?I’m 50/50 I’d say?! I’d love to, but I can’t justify nearly $2k for two phones especially being an annual upgrader (at retail less trade-in) 😬 I have a week and a half to decide which one to return so I’ll continue to play with this one and see if I either adapt to its features or come to the conclusion that the 17 is a better fit for my wants/needs 🙂Thanks for the honest reply. I have a 14p thats been caseless/screen protector-less its entire life. the Ceramic Shield on the front has tons of scratches both visible and fine the back glass (non CM) is completely flawless my air is 100% going to get a screen protector right away
