Does the MagSafe battery pack leave a mark on the back of the Air?

For those of you who are using an Air with the MagSafe battery pack, have you noticed whether it leaves a mark on the back of the phone, like the MagSafe charger does? If any of you have noticed a mark, which colour phone are you using?
ps: I’m particularly interested to know whether the black colour Air gets marks with the pack. But comments on any colour of Air are most appreciated.
@firoze
i have the white Air.
i only have used the MagSafe Battery Pack twice in order to understand how it works and holds up.
i don't think twice would be enough time to judge if it leaves a mark.
i would doubt it would leave a mark, though. the battery pack itself is also a really beautiful device as well.

i was also on the line about which model.
i went with the Air. and was pleasantly a little bit surprised at how versatile it is.
i have gone back to reading iBooks on my iPhone because of the Air (i was reading using Kindle).
and although everybody's usage is different, i am setting my maximum charge at 80% (in order to preserve long term battery health) and still my Air has about 40% daily battery charge left at around 20:30.
usage-wise, i usually am starting my day around 5:00: during the day im using my Air for about 90 minutes actually talking on it every day; using 15 or 20 apps during the day; web searches; news reading; banking apps; i also have it set for a lot of notifications as well.
i think for very heavy users the total battery capacity would not be enough unless they augment it with the MagSage Battery Pack.
for "average" users however, its enough, to be sure.

one last note. i use an apple Watch. and do an 80 minute run every day (along with my Air (since its so light!)) i don't know what load a Watch might be placing on an iPhone. and i haven't seen any information about that.

I have been enamored with the Air for the past six days I've had it. My only significant complaints are the single speaker and the battery. I'm more concerned about the battery. I'm waffling and am quite torn between keeping the Air or going to the 17 Pro.

After a week of back and forth, I finally returned the Air. About to return the 17PM as well as it's giving me wrist pain.

Bought a 17P Silver just now, just wish the screen is the same size as the Air.

I’d recommend the regular 17, that’s the sweet spot of the line up with better speakers, battery and cameras compared to the Air and non of the weight and bulk of the Pro

The previous Apple Battery Pack never left a mark on my 13 mini. I haven't tried the new battery pack, yet, as I haven't had need.

If someone has the first gen Battery Pack, it will work on the Air.

Loving the Air, though I've started second guessing myself. I tried out a 17 Pro Max in store today and it hit me that the 17PM actually felt more comfortable in my hand. I've got big hands, and the thickness and size of the 17PM actually means the phone rests more neutrally in my hand with less effort. The Air I need to use my fingers and hand muscles to actually keep it propped up.

And you can't get a Pro Max inside of a month, so I'm pretty much stuck with this Air now. I've noticed some strain in my phone hand from a week of using this Air. Ah well.........

I must say one thing…

Safari is the app that eats up my battery. It is also the app I use the most.

Yesterday was my day of lightest use of Safari with 1h 31min SOT and it consumed 30%.

The day before 3h 17min SOT for a battery consumption of 58%.

This is about 3% battery drain for every 10 min of Safari usage…

I used to have about 60 open tabs, now I have 10-15. Other than that, I don’t know what can I do to improve this. In theory, the app runs 0 min on background.

Just ordered an Air. Very excited, hoping it meets my needs. I’m coming from an iPhone 12, so hopefully the battery will feel like an upgrade and not a compromise.

The search is on for a minimalist case that offers some protection and flattens out the plateau on the back.

I am on the fence about using a screen protector. I’ve always used one on my phone, but I just realized I’ve had my Apple Watch Ultra for almost two years and the display looks great. So that makes me think I could go without one…

There’s already posts on the forums about scratched screens. You may want to use a screen protector.

Yeah, I realized that the watch apparently has a sapphire crystal screen. Will put a screen protector on at first.

That drainage doesn’t track with my Safari usage at all. I’ve been using Safari for 10 minutes this morning and I’m at 100 still. Yesterday was super heavy and Safari used 39% at 4 hours on screen. Currently have 38 tabs open.

Wish I had an answer for you.

There is space for it and they held off for an upgrade path. That's what annoys me, it shouldn't happen on a cutting edge $1,000 device.

I use the speakers anywhere from ~20-30 hours a week so it matters a huge amount to me, I recognize some people never use it but a lot of people do. Some of us are blessed with really nice home offices and fairly large houses and listen to a lot of audiobooks / podcasts where the volume matters. I also do use the speakerphone most of the time for calls at least during the day when I'm home without people around. Carrying it around while I do chores etc. is just a lot nicer and more comfortable vs. AirPods, unless I'm vacuuming or something. If I'm in one of the areas of the house without ambient speakers I'll use it for music playback too sometimes, just for background music not critical listening.

On the rare occasion I work in an office I do use AirPods and like them.

There's a disconnect where people think an obvious downgrade that could be fixed with a sub $10 part that Apple designed for internally and did not include should be written off just because some people are inconsiderate and use them in public settings where it's inappropriate. I'd never do that, of course.

Apple did the same thing with the iPod Touch 3rd generation (the damn mount was inside) and the original iPad (prototypes had a camera and the held out for a 2nd gen, internals very similar to the Air where there was space but no mount).

I get insulting people or minimizing a downgrade is just justification of their purchase or desire to purchase, and despite that I appreciate the people who have given good descriptions on the difference because I now know the Air is not for me.

Next year assuming they address this, which they probably will given how the internals are laid out, it'll be between the Air and Fold, which will depend on how much business travel I need to do. I love the Air's form factor and look forward to eventually getting it, and certainly for the people that never or rarely use the speakers it's a good device, but Analytics e.g. from Marco Arment directly via overcast proved that an absolutely enormous amount of people do use speakers a lot, like medium double-digits if I remember correctly.

One other consideration is that AI Voice interaction is becoming very good especially if you don't use ChatGPT where it's a downgraded model. Some other providers offer the full functionality and interacting with voice while your hands are full or you're doing something else really does feel more like the "living in the future" use case we were promised. Once again, not something to do in public of course.

But, perhaps the most important thing: the dogs genuinely like hearing family on the phone :).

None of this takes away from your enjoyment of the device, but it is worth pointing out for people that are on the fence or might care. The best thing for those people to do is buy one and try it, or just wait since it's obviously coming in a year or two.
The topic of the single speaker.

I have tried out the Air in the store and love it, have been planning on getting one soon but then I started thinking about the single speaker last night. How often does that top speaker break? If it does, how much is it to get repaired with Apple and is it a quick repair at an Apple Store? If the phone had two speakers, well, if one died you still have the other.

Now I’m left trying to decide: do I get an Air now and roll the dice, or wait to see if the Air 2 has dual speakers. If I wait for next year and it still only has one speaker I’m left with the same decision.
