As mostly a lurker who's been hooked on all the air threads the past week or so figure I should give back. Despite some last second hesitation based on some reports of low volume issues with phone calls, decided to go from a 14 pro to an Air instead of the regular 17. First off, I guess I can see where some might have a problem with the volume but it's not been an issue at all for me. It's a nice phone, but I'm honestly not as blown away by the weight as I thought I might be. That said, based on my usage, the thin design and slightly larger screen were incentive enough for me to choose the Air.

I don't get super excited about phones so I can't say it's the most excited I've been about a phone in ages (although the fact that I'm taking the time to write this might suggest a bit more enthusiasm than usual as I don't think I've ever bothered to share my thoughts on my phone). It is a great screen, the battery is fine for my needs, the speaker is more than good for my use (use headphones if I want high quality sound), and the two photos I've taken just to try the camera look fine (I mostly leave the photos to my wife).

In addition to the larger screen, what I like the most is the feel when in my pockets, as those saying you barely notice it are not exaggerating even though for whatever reason I don't appreciate the weight difference as much when holding the phone in my hand. I probably would have been fine with the regular 17, but also like having the 12 gb of ram. My only regret is I probably should have gone with white or black, as the cloud blue really should be called off-white blue. Still nice though.
I tend to agree about the light blue color, but it has grown on me and actually the frame of the phone is more like a silver blue color? Anyways that’s my two cents on the color.

I turned AOD off. I don't miss it. When the phone is not in my pocket and I am with other people, it's upside down anyway. If I need a glimpse I pick it up and the screen turns on anyway or when I get a notification. I am not sure how much battery it actually saves.

Handled the Air again today. It really would have benefitted from a smaller size. It's essentially just a super light Pro Max/Plus
This is probs the biggest reason I havn't tried one, don't want anything bigger than my 16 pro, you don't get much more advantage going to air/max size, been there done that with 15/16 max, and I have a mini 7 that get's used more than my phone at home.
Don't need a bigger slab of glass on me when out and about or working.

But then people like me wouldn't have bought it, because part of the reason WHY I wanted it was because had a good size screen but wasn't as big as the Pro Max - but was lighter than my current phone, lol.

The longer I've had mine the more I grow to love it tbh - when I pause to think about the paper specs I can debate, but the thing is - I just don't think I care enough about the battery life and the camera to suffer with the weight of the Pro Max, and considering that screen size AND weight are important to me, I don't want to go down to the 17 or 17 Pro. So the Air is making me pretty happy tbh.

I have read/seen several comments/videos that claim that the surprise or honeymoon effect will vanish in a short time and that is when one will find themselves with a less capable mobile. Just like if the phone stopped being thin and light after two weeks of use.

Well, in my personal experience with the 13 Pro Max, after that honeymoon phase in which I took a couple of ProRAW photos and a couple of cinematic videos and a couple of that (and never again)... I found myself with a heavy phone that could be uncomfortable to use for long periods. A feeling that only got worse over the years…
