Just be aware that if you’re transferring from a physical sim, it will render that sim useless. If you send the Air back and go back to your old phone you’ll need a new physical sim.
you just set up the old phone while you still have the air and the eSIM will transfer back via your carrier app, that how it works here anyway. AU.

I’ve never tested it so you might be right, but I’ve only read the opposite, that a physical sim can’t be reactivated. Obviously if both devices have eSIM then you can transfer back and forth, but I’m talking about one phone only having a physical sim and the other phone only having eSIM.

Once you convert a physical sim to a eSIM the pyhsical sim is cactus lol

That’s what I thought, yet I sit here with my o2 physical sim still active in my Pixel 10 whilst my number has been moved to an eSIM on the Air.

I did the transfer almost a week ago and it’s still active despite the eSIM becoming live instantly.

I even tried making a receiving a call with the physical sim today and it 100% still works.

Weird.

Is it WiFi calling? I found when I was using the physical sim in my other phone, my Air (not activated) would still ring too because of shared notifications

As someone who is coming from an XR, basically every single feature will be better with the Air - and since I couldn’t care less about telephoto lenses and other photo blabla, I am sure all will be fine.

The only open question is: which thin case or bumper should I get? Apple Bumper? Mous clear case? Other?
I would love to use the bumper but gives no protection to the camera/bump

I got one of these yesterday and it is amazing. Protects the corners and has a raised edge around the camera bump and sides are open so it feels like you are using the phone naked. I also use an OhSnap grip. Perfect combo that keeps the super thin form factor with just a hint of protection.

I switched from a 16 PM to an Air. Three days and have no regrets. Is anyone using the Apple Frosted MagSafe case? How do you like it, if you are using it? I thought about the bumper, but it offers no back protection, which I need. No more hand pain.

That backside logo is absolutely horrible - I'd rather have a clear back, not advertise for others.

Out of curiosity, under what conditions can one actually tell that an Air has a Blue or Gold back? All I've heard is that both are essentially white with cold or warm tint. Surely there has to some circumstances that the colors are actually visible.

It’s honestly ridiculous. When it’s next to something white, they look less white.

Outdoors or in natural light sky blue looks like a light blue, sometimes a light bluish gray. My wife thinks it’s the most interesting color because it shifts in the light. But she’s also a designer that has looked at hundreds of shades of white. Indoors it pretty much always looks white to me unless I’m by a window in the sun.

You did say you were considering replacing your 16+. Look at your post again.

I don't care what you use. I was just pointing out that your post was contradictory to what you said your goal was. That is what I pointed to. Consider your post didn't get written the way you meant it to, so that others would clearly see what you were trying to convey without contradictions. I responded to what was written nothing more nothing less. My posting history clearly reflects I have no device agenda mentality nor do I seek to chide others for doing something different than me.
Given that you’re insisting I said something I evidently did not, I’ll assume you’re also unable to discern what’s contradictory.

I have the Sky Blue Air and except for the night I set it up at the Apple Store, it always looks blue to me. I have it in the Apple clear case with white MagSafe mark so maybe that helps show the blue.

I have the same as you. I really love the phone.

As mostly a lurker who's been hooked on all the air threads the past week or so figure I should give back. Despite some last second hesitation based on some reports of low volume issues with phone calls, decided to go from a 14 pro to an Air instead of the regular 17. First off, I guess I can see where some might have a problem with the volume but it's not been an issue at all for me. It's a nice phone, but I'm honestly not as blown away by the weight as I thought I might be. That said, based on my usage, the thin design and slightly larger screen were incentive enough for me to choose the Air.

I don't get super excited about phones so I can't say it's the most excited I've been about a phone in ages (although the fact that I'm taking the time to write this might suggest a bit more enthusiasm than usual as I don't think I've ever bothered to share my thoughts on my phone). It is a great screen, the battery is fine for my needs, the speaker is more than good for my use (use headphones if I want high quality sound), and the two photos I've taken just to try the camera look fine (I mostly leave the photos to my wife).

In addition to the larger screen, what I like the most is the feel when in my pockets, as those saying you barely notice it are not exaggerating even though for whatever reason I don't appreciate the weight difference as much when holding the phone in my hand. I probably would have been fine with the regular 17, but also like having the 12 gb of ram. My only regret is I probably should have gone with white or black, as the cloud blue really should be called off-white blue. Still nice though.
