I'll buy it on day one to replace my current Air, which is already almost perfect.

Hadn’t actually seen an iPhone Air in the wild yet but visited an Apple Store earlier on – felt nice to hold, if they can improve the battery life and add an additional lens in the future then I would perhaps consider one.
Perfect. Saving up already for the 1TB version and hopefully will last forever lol. I will be (spiritually) joining the 12/13 mini crowd in suffering. So the ultrawide camera is not the macro camera right ? The one that always changes when you take a macro shot from very close. So annoying, 1 camera phones are a features for me.
Hopefully the 2nm will also add a few hours to the battery life.

My experience with it has been that the battery easily lasts all day.
Not that new battery technology (perhaps solid state in a few years' time?) wouldn't be welcome.

My favorite since maybe the 4? It’s uniquely new. What it’s missing is only the ultrawide camera. That would have made it a hit from day one. And an $899 price tag. The battery is great on it. I mean if one needs their iPhone 7+ hours per day, maybe they need some real life to live. I get by with mine and have very rarely hit any worry except when traveling. And that’s when the battery pack makes sense.
Sounds great, but I still won't get if the speaker is as bad as it currently is.
They were already overpriced. Now, they will become unaffordable for so many more people.

I hope it's a telephoto, that the only thing I miss on my Air. A wide angle is totally useless to me, I don't need a distorted, low quality fish lens picture of anything. But even a legit 2-3x optical is very useful.
Everyone who wishes they don’t make an Air 2 - just don’t buy one. Close your eyes when you approach one in the Apple Store. It’s not that hard to avoid. Let us enjoy our phone.

Well since it is not telephoto I am not interested. Not to say I was interested in it to start with🤣 But really, does Apple really think ultrawide is more useful than telephoto?
I’m torn. The UW camera is most useful for me when I need to take a macro photo. I miss macro more than zoom day-to-day.

It is either fat, heavy slates like Pro and Pro Max, this or basic models like 17 and e. I would love a small iPhone like iPhone 4 or 5, so that it can function as, well, phone… I don’t need an iPad in my pocket
Cos the last one sucked for its price.
But honestly if they give it better battery and more importantly a stereo speaker I’d consider it.
Don’t care about the second camera but for its price I expect 2x lenses minimum.

That’s the problem: they need to improve lens design so that main camera (26mm) can shoot decent macro without using UW crop. They can do that but they don’t want to increase costs and change lens

The real story here is there is no Air 3 reported by Gurman for 2028. He's expecting base iPhone 19, iPhone 20, and Ultra 2, but no Air 3.
Air 2 coming out in Spring 2027 is a death sentence for the product. The A20 Pro launches this September and most people will buy the Pro/Max/Ultra. Nobody will wait 6 months to buy the same chip at $999. The Spring period is for mainstream customers looking for the base model, not the Air 2.

I wish Apple (and others) would stop catering more to people who want to buy a camera than to people who want to buy a phone/computing device.
Irrelevant, any Apple product can be a toy. Or a tool. Any of them.
