I mean, to be honest, this might be the one to do it.As I've already stated in this forum, another step towards the Air inevitably replacing the standard iPhone model in a few years.
Introducing the iPhone Thicc. The first iPhone that only needs to be charged once a week. It feels satifyingly substantial in your hand – weighing in at over 2lbs with a revolutionary 1.5-inch deep aluminum ThiccBody™ enclosure. Can we get an iPhone that's an opposite to this anorexic version?
Because a lot of us love the first and will absolutely upgrade to the second. Why are they making another one
Not really. For comparison, it’s just 1.5 millimeters thinner than the iPhone 12, which at the same time had slightly lower weight than the Air (162 vs. 165 grams). You could say that it is an iPhone 12 pounded a bit flatter and wider, with the remaining volume redistributed to the thick camera plateau. (The battery is significantly higher capacity though.)Does the lower bulk make it easier to juggle in the hand?
Only national parks? 🏞️Awesome. I’m getting this new air and plan on using it as my main iPhone while continuing to use the pro specifically for taking pictures at National Parks 🏞️ when I travel- because the pro has a better camera
This is such an absurd take. The iPhone Air is going to replace the standard iPhone in due time. The real story here is there is no Air 3 reported by Gurman for 2028. He's expecting base iPhone 19, iPhone 20, and Ultra 2, but no Air 3.
Air 2 coming out in Spring 2027 is a death sentence for the product. The A20 Pro launches this September and most people will buy the Pro/Max/Ultra. Nobody will wait 6 months to buy the same chip at $999. The Spring period is for mainstream customers looking for the base model, not the Air 2.

Mate, you are dead wrong. And I will be proven right in due time.Come back in 12 months and we'll decide.
There's no chance a titanium-based iPhone that sold so poorly will serve as the base model. The theory that Air will be the base is simply absurd. The bulk of Apple consumers want a low-cost device with good battery life. Is MacBook Neo popular because it's thin?
With Ternus in charge as an even more down-to-earth guy than Cook, pet projects are even less likely to be continued.
To be precise, the 17e is 2.4% heavier and 40% cheaper than the Air.If they’ve made it lighter, I might consider it. It’s too heavy. Currently, for the same weight and half the price and easier to manage one handed, I’d just get an 17e

I'm not going to engage with you anymore about this. You always post about how the Air is going to die. It's tiresome and ridiculous.
The Air is clearly going to replace the standard model. Apple is making the Air more appealing. They are making the case for the Air moving forward. They will lower the Air price to $900 with the 3.0 model and the standard model will be discontinued.
The Neo is a nonsensical argument. Apples and oranges. Cheers, mate. ✌️
