I hope it isn't! Here's to many more cool gadgets to play with! 🍻At my age (81), this will probably be my last iPhone I will ever own. So yes, I will purchase the Duo
Noooo, who will post photos of it on here a few hours before we get ours here in the US!I'm still on the fence about getting the Duo and this thread is immensely useful. Reading different takes on this.
Main sticking points for me:
- Absurdly high price, compared to the USD equivalent plus 10% tax
- Nano texture inner screen – All the videos/hands on I've seen show the screen being quite washed out
- Fragility of inner screen
- 2 cameras only
- Touch ID and not Face ID. This feels like a step back when they touted Face ID as better and being more secure during iPhone X.
- Gen 1 product with no real life usage to test yet
Leaning towards just getting the 18PM.
Hahahaha I’ll still post photos of the luscious burgundy 18 PM next week 🙂Noooo, who will post photos of it on here a few hours before we get ours here in the US!
Is it gonna be socially unacceptable to take out an iPad mini sized device at dinner on the reg?
Count me in! I am excited about the iPhone Duo.
Yeah it’s not really fair to compare the highest pro max to the base model Duo as if you’re gonna get either one you’re likely going to want or need a certain storage, and whatever you choose will have a significant difference price wise, but for me I no longer care about having the latest device, I got my 17PM last November and I’m happy with it, not looking to fork over more than I already paid for a phone that I just don’t see as a huge upgradeI wasn’t being pedantic as I was comparing like for like, not the biggest storage tier of one versus the smallest of the other. I’ll stick with a 16 Pro Max and an iPad Air so it’s not even a concern for me.
I don’t understand how that affects the price when comparing the entry storage capacities of both devices? The cost difference is still £700.Not when you add usable storage for video and photo shooting
Apple Watch unlock was a pleasant surprise here for me!when it gets Face ID. I NEVER have good luck with Touch ID
It’s around the same price as other foldables…Am I going to buy an iPhone that is the size of a passport and costs more than a new iPhone 17 Pro plus a new iPad mini with an Apple Pencil combined?
Err, nope.
While it’s admittedly a neat but now an old idea, it’s very poor value and a great example of Apple simply thinking they can get you to buy anything for any cost from them. If they dazzle you enough they think you’ll forget basic addition.
Honestly, after realizing I couldn't use it like an iPad and seeing how they've ruined iOS, I don't think it's as great a device as you imagine.Apple has done more or less as I expected: created a device superior in hardware and software to all competitors. However, they haven’t done nearly enough, and the cost is way too high for what it is, in order for me to be interested. I’m still about two years away from wanting an upgrade and we’ll see how the world looks then but a device with two screens just won’t enter into it for me.
