Hard no. It’s hideous and awkward. There is not a single realistic usage scenario for me which would warrant such a heavy, bulky, cumbersome device.

Sticking with the Air because it’s amazing.
 
This upgrade of the iPhone Mini is too expensive for me and it doesn't bring any needed functionality. I can do without the inner screen. Drop it, lower the price, ensure the corners are all the same and keep the batteries. Then I'll buy. Until then I'll hold on to my 13 Mini.
 
I'm undecided at this point. I currently have a Pro Max and I definitely want to be able to run an app with the additional screen space, or run 2 apps with side-by-side windows. on a wider screen. I have my eye on one specific app, and I am not sure if the developer will support the Duo from the day I buy one. I will contact the company and ask what their plans are. A few months of patience with the developer wouldn't hurt, though.
 
Ehhh, those video on hand previews low key started to change my mind, was not a fan of nano texture screens on the iPad pro’s since i love the old glossy finish for vibrant black, I wanted silver but not anymore, blue for sure.

I’m due for an upgrade and considering the 18PM.

I might hold off until version two of the fold. I don’t think the screen is all that and not a big fan of matte screens. Also at this price point they should have included a pen…
The phone is eye watering pricy. I don’t think it’s worth what they are asking.

Also, does anyone know how much ram the phone has?
 
Where are all of the iPhone Air haters who constantly cried about “compromise” and how form factor wasn’t a selling point, and how it was too expensive?

Now they’re jumping all in for a heavy (heaviest iPhone ever), bulky, cumbersome $2,000 phone with no telephoto zoom?

Make it make sense.

Have you seen the hands-on videos with the matte screen and the shiny circle for FaceTime lense???

Big nope from me. I’ll stick with a phone and an iPad Pro that are best at what they “do.” Not a phone/ipad thats not the best at “duo”ing either…

Because the iPhone Duo has a different set of tradeoffs. It has a screen nearly as large as an iPad mini with multitasking support in exchange for the weight and lack of telephoto zoom.

I passed on the Air precisely because of the single camera that belongs on an iphone SE, not a 2nd to top of the line phone.

for the Duo: no face id, cheap camera module with no telephoto = no sale. They could've at least thrown in the aperture blades for that price.
 
It maybe good for some but for me its a no I have an iPad 11 if I need a bigger screen and I still one hand my 15Pro something I will not be able to do with this.

Funnily enough, we haven’t seen any phone demos on how it works as a phone
 
I loved a lot of what I saw with the Duo but thinking about how practical living with it day to day my thoughts are:

- That spine/hinge isn't protected by cases (at least Apple's anyway). When it's closed and sliding in and out of pockets, being put down etc many people are going to scratch it, no matter how careful you are.

- How often are you really going to be out in public, open the phone up to it's full size and using it two handed? I mean if you're sat down somewhere then fine but taking it out and opening it and having to hold it with two hands doesn't feel like something I'm going to do often.

- People are going to know it's a $2k+ device simply by its form factor, so potentially a bigger target for thieves.

- Using it when it's closed to make phone calls looks a little...silly? Holding a small, non-candybar shape phone.

- Apple have talked a lot about how complex it is with "100 moving parts" in the hinge, then there's the issue of the crease (Apple haven't provided a number of fold cycles it can tolerate). There might not be any problems at all, but it's a first gen device so who knows.

I know they're not major problems, and don't get me wrong I love so much about it, but they're the things that are stopping me pulling the trigger on a purchase.

Will probably be very envious when I see one for real out in the wild.
