Thats brilliant! I think it would be great for every Chinese worker who makes your iPhones to take a snap of herself or her factory friends. Build bridges, make connections, a hello from a person you would never otherwise meet. Globalisation in practise.

I agree. I think it would be pretty cool to have a picture of the person that made my phone. You know? like inspector 21?

You know if they could run an ad campaign showing off the inspection process of my white cotton briefs I certainly wouldnt mind a picture of the person checking my phone. Would you ?

The reason she would be fired is because she is goofing off, posing for pictures while she should be working. Perhaps the person who took the picture was just testing the phone, perhaps he accidently left the picture on the phone. iPhone girl still should have been working in the picture, not holding up the peace sign. Would I fire someone for doing this on occasion? no. I would certainly make note of it to make sure she didn't make it habit.

To you and all those who think someone could/should be fired for spending 10 seconds screwing off...have you ever had a job? If so, then you should all be fired too, because no one is 'on task' 100% of the time. Besides, work productivity studies across cultures show clearly, every time, that bringing the hammer down on a zero-tolerance screw-off policy reduces productivity by increasing turnover and time lost to worker anxiety.

What I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is that this incident could be viewed as quite a security breach. Normally, you can't simply walk into a factory making equipment like this. Employees are usually not permitted to take photo cameras inside (and with most phones containing cameras these days, it's not unusual that cell phones can't be taken into the "restricted areas").

Pictures of the production process would be very interesting to the competition...

Good one. First, why are you yapping about smuggling cell phones into a factory that makes the iPhones upon which the photos in question were taken and later found? Second, tell me how much you learned from this picture that you can put to use in making the new Microsoft SchwagPhone, with details please.

All I learned is that there is a Chinese woman of undetermined age--anyone who has spent any time in east Asia or in east Asian communities elsewhere would agree that she could be between 17 and 40--posing for a photo in a rather snazzy-looking factory.

And please leave the guy alone for posting the pix...as if it's not newsworthy and interesting in comparison with 3 out of any 4 other news stories we are subjected to on the internet every day.

You know? I'm considering to send my iphone back, because I don't have an i-phone girl in. It's really good receiving a smile "accidentally".

China.org.cn reports on the photos posted to our forum last week of a Foxconn factory worker. Forum user markm49uk had found the photos on his brand new iPhone.

This led to speculation on the identity and the fate of the factory worker's job. Fortunately, it's been confirmed that the employee was not fired based on comments from a Foxconn factory worker:The representative did confirm that she was an employee at the Shenzhen factory and that it was likely that the test photos were left on the iPhone's memory "accidentally".

I was "yapping about smuggling cell phones into a factory" to point out that there are usually very strict rules against photographing in "restricted access" areas. Sp, there wasn't much to be learned from the photo this time. It's not a matter of how much we learned from this particular picture, it's a matter of their processes not being reliable. After all, how do we know there aren't any a pictures of "more interesting" things out there?

deary deary

Probably not much need to worry about how they "treat women in real life". Most probably don't get much opportunity to interact with real women vs. pictures and imaginary girlfriends.

Oh dear.. Makes me realize why i leave my house every day and actually interact with members of the opposite sex.. for some it seems that Lara Croft is about as real as it gets.

i hope she is not losing her job. the picture doesnt matter. u can delete it at anytime.. firing her is too cruel for her.

thx

Please look at the date next time. Nobody likes reincarnated threads

late to to the party

1)- that's kind of a cool thing to find on your phone.

2)- she looks happy to be there. Good

3)- had that been an american factory worker you'd either be looking at someone's bum (like my own for instance) or some fat 400LB female factory troll.

You lucked out.

that's all.

Noob out.

OT: I think reincarnated thread are cool! I saw this and thought "wow..that was 2 years ago!"

As for the "Asian fetish" thing, I don't get it either, but it has been around for at least 20-30 years, prolly longer. I also don't get foot fetishes etc. They are just facts of life.
