I dont believe a word of this, because like everyone else points out, EVERY YEAR WE HEAR THE SAME DAMN RUMOR...So one of two things is happening, Apple is notoriously bad at production of its devices (unlikely) Or all these leakers and "Insiders" spread the same damn rumor to cover their A$$es in the event the phone is delayed so they can say "See i told you so ahead of time!"

The time window to order this within the 1st week of release? 30 seconds when it opens at 6am sometime in September. Just watch.

Everyone else will be pushed to 3 months until the new year...

I am sure the phone will be great! Folding phones are evolving nicely.
MrMobile or MKB has a recent video on the Oppo as I recall - the decreased crease and hinge things are mature. I hope whoever wants one enjoys that tech.
Plan to stay with slab phone till this tech can be built into the glasses. That is when my wallet will open.

The iPhone Fold will be a higher-priced device with a lower picture quality than cheaper iPhones. Foldable screens comprise on picture quality to achieve thinness and to be bendable.

Hello from the iPhone Fold queue at my local Apple Store. I'm camped out at #8 for Launch Day. I'm excited to buy two new iPhone Folds for $3,000 each since I'm definitely not buying any base models. My Klarna account is ready for $6,000 more debt. I'm so hyped! #foldmeup

"push back" meaning it's sooner? because time moves forward.... so if it's later, i'd expect for the idiom to be "push foward". english is so weird.

Regardless of when it releases and whatever availability it has, probably best to let a couple months at least go by for them to fine tune production based on these rumors coming out.

They probably saw the near-zero crease screen/ultra flat hinge design from Oppo Find N6 and want to use them.

Fold ain't happening.
Step 1: Fold on track
Step 2: Fold announcement on track, device to follow later <-- You are here.
Step 3: Fold announcement delayed
Step 4: Fold cancelled because it didn't meet Apple's quality

This is why you always skip the first gen of a new Apple product. In fact, because development of the 2nd gen folding iPhone is already in the works, it is best to skip the first two generations and wait for a 3rd gen, with consumer feedback improvements.

However, I have no doubt this will sell incredibly well. I’m only pointing out that the YoY improvements will be stark for the first 2-3 years.
