iPhone Fold Production Pushed Back, But Fall 2026 Launch Still on Track

You’re Apple’s favorite customer, someone who tests their first generation products. Then again, Apple’s folding iPhone is being built on the experience of Samsung and other manufacturers multiple generations of folding phones so maybe not as first generation as it could be.

You would think I would have learned my lesson after the first gen Apple Watch and first gen AirPods Pro but nooooooooo

It’s the same thing with every iPhone release. A few months out, we get reports about delays only for the phone to launch on time

They still have delays. hence people jumping on here the day they ordered and some have 1 day and some have a month's wait. Not to mention they adjust physical releases focusing on the US more than other parts of the world when in a tight spot.

Here's what i learned in my 42 years of life, many of those greatly looking forward to a new device (Phone, tablet, gaming system, etc).... It will come out when it comes out, and you'll get one when your meant to. You can have all the money in the world, but unless your willing to pay ridiculous prices to 3rd party scalpers and resellers, or unless its a limited edition collectable, No company in the world is going to just stop making a product that sells, just because they cant make them fast enough. The more it sells out, the more eager they are to make more, to sell more, to make more money, thats how it works and your usually better off NOT getting it day one, because its sure to have manufacturing issues, or software glitches, etc.

Best time to buy is within the first 6 months for apple products, especially with iphones, because they usually are a year cycle in between models. If your going to get the latest and greatest, figure within 3 months of its launch is an ideal time. After 6 months, its like why even bother, might as well wait the next 6 months for the newer version.

The only time it really pays off to get it day one is if your a YouTuber or Social Media Influencer, to support your channel and the big ones have them sent to them with a Embargo a week before they do their reviews usually.

So unless your an up and coming youtuber trying to cash in on having the latest and greatest, OR your just that shallow and have to show off your new toy to everyone the moment it comes out, Whats the difference.

I used to try so hard to get the latest iphone the moment it came out, and over the years i said to myself, WHY? The one i got is still good enough. What am i really getting? Social Clout? Most of my friends arent even tech fans. I gave up doing youtube nearly 2 years now, i dont need to have it day one, the phone i got still works just fine.

So i say this...Let it get delayed, let it sell out, let all the reviewers and influencers go hands on first, then decide if its even worth upgrading.

This FOMO (Fear of missing out) is rediculious. Apples going to be making these phones for atleast a year. If you have the money and really want one, Im sure apple is going to be able to accommodate you sooner or later.

What I got out of scrolling a minute or 2 here - next phone will be called iPuppy.

Well, my iPhone mini are good for some more time.
1st gen. of this fold doesn’t seem interesting for me at all. Will see what the Apple’s have when it comes to smaller flip's later on.

My wallet will be ready, however— I’ll see what features the Fold has and what it’s missing first when compared to Pro Max. Worth remembering that the original iPhone, iPad, and iPhone X were first gen products, too, and those were pretty awesome.

I had the iPhone X and I had no issues, but it was basically a redesigned iPhone with FaceID built on Apple’s experience with multiple iPhone generations. Original iPhone and iPad were a different story with a brand new category being introduced by Apple. I may take the risk with Apple’s rumored first generation Apple glasses.

Probably best to skip the third gen, too, because it’s undoubtedly bound to be better in the 4th gen. Actually, now that I think about it, customer feedback would make the 5th gen even better than that. Oh, and technical improvements… those will make the 6th gen even better!

I think you missed the point and probably simply don’t know the history of 1st gen Apple products. However, if you have the $ to upgrade every year, then go ahead.
