Your statement in your posts was TESLA LEADS! Which is absolutely not, I repeat it for you one more time - you can’t do any statement of leading anything when you doesn’t have statistic for the whole year of sold cars. What was in one month in February 2026 it is doesn’t matter cuz it is a little part of general statistic…

Now I will show you statistic for the first half of 2026. Please stop doing non logic posts if you doesn’t know about it… I see your trolling behaviour not a first time here…
Correct. My figures show Tesla leads in sales in 2026 and it’s not incorrect. This is a thread about brand loyalty and you are confusing that with sales. Your narrative is you need the entire year.

Teslas brand loyalty for automotive leads in 2026 and cars and you can draw your own conclusion, but the facts are what they are even if you ignore them.😉

same with android just that its in a umbrella community with multiple different brands and different people who in itself support andriod and its roots and its even better when you can chat to people across communities and actually be interested in the device they own, not just as another status symbol that people flex online.

there many ways to communicate with other people, not just imessage and the apple ecosystem and plus its getting increasingly better to communicate between iPhone and andriod like RCS and iphone to android airdrop support.

Nope, I have had iphone users come upto me in past asking what spinning liquid at the back of my redmagic 11 pro is (its liquid cooling that is to cool down the battery and act like a cooling solution when a Peltier cooler is put at the back) and what is name of the brand. iPhone is more seen as a handshake interaction but apple users don't really reflect the technology that goes into the phone in contrast to android users.
iPhone users imo want a phone that just works. Maybe it’s reflected in the satisfaction rating.

My iPhone 17 pro will probably be my last iPhone. After having used iPhone like forever. I can't stand anymore the typing and dictation errors. Spelling mistakes. And I'm tired of the iOS design after so many years of hard to see changes. Plus AirDrop that works 3/10 with my partner. I'll keep and cherish my Mac and my iPad though... for now.

I switched phones a lot when I was younger, and the smartphone market didn't just consist of
two operating systems 🙁
Symbian, webOS, Windows Mobile, MeeGo, you name it...

Finally settled with an iPhone 4 and upgraded every 2 or 3 years. I sometimes had the urge to switch to Android (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S8, the 2nd Samsung Fold, Microsoft Duo, Fairphone 6).

I always end up returning to the iPhone. Although Apple might raise its prices, the phone and OS itself respects me as a user and just works.

With Samsung, for example, I always have the feeling that they don't respect their users and don't like their products as soon as they're older than 1 month.
Also, having them install apps out of the blue reminds me of Windows 11... the OS I'm definitely not going back to 😀

I have been using iPhones for a little over six years coming from Android and iPhones definitely don’t “just work”. They have so many issues compared to Android phones thus why plan to go back to Android with my next phone. I have given iPhone a long term legit chance though.

My own subjective experience about the iPhone since the iPhone 5s is they “just work”. Don’t know what “issues” you had but as a tool to get things done, I enjoy using it.

It’s been a very long time since I felt the itch to try Android again. I used to switch and often kept both, but the Essential Phone was to be my last Android phone and something really unexpected have to happen for me to even consider switching or even duel wielding a Android phone again.

Android and the apps for it are just not good enough. Even a flagship Android phone feels bloated. And I will never in my life buy a phone with a Meta product preinstalled.

so this, record sales indicate that Apple is doing something right, despite all the negativity here on MR such as lack of innovation, iPhone fatigue etc etc ... guess Apple nows it customers better than MR posters after all ...
Keep going Apple!
“knows” - not to look uneducated

We did. It was even the other heavyweight in tech: Windows. And it was surprisingly good by most reports, even on low-end hardware.

Ultimately, Windows Phone failed in the market due to precisely the opposite conditions from those that helped Windows on desktop succeed: there just wasn't any meaningful support from third party developers. Those same conditions are also what make it next to impossible for anyone else to compete with the iOS/Android duopoly.
Yeah it seems like developers are mostly only able and/or willing to handle two platforms per app, for both mobile and desktop. So we may be stuck with only two mainstream platforms each--iOS/Android, and Windows/Mac (I wouldn't say Linux is mainstream).

The thought of owning something other than an iPhone never even crosses my mind.
I started out with Android many years ago, but I found it very frustrating which drove me to iPhone. It's been a relatively smooth experience ever since. I'm sure Android has gotten a lot better, but as I've gotten older and have less time to spare, I don't bother changing things that work for me. Experimenting with tech is a young man's game.

What many android users do not understand is that Apple has created a single identity.

Android has many identities.

Is this why Android users call us sheeple?

I don't mind going with the flock if it means a better, more secure user experience.

In 2026 you cannot live without a smartphone. Even for older people, it is becoming increasingly difficult to accomplish basic tasks without relying on a smartphone or a relative who owns one, because so much of society relies on them.
So no, it's not just a preference.
I disagree. I can live without a smartphone, maybe not a smart device, like an iPad but a cell phone and iPad would work for me. The thing is a smart device makes things more convenient.

The togetherness of some is sometimes to another's disappointment. Misery loves company after all.

The Apple ecosystem is very hygienic. Its clean. That is an identity I can get behind and stay behind.

  • An iPad is a smart device the same way an iPhone is.
  • You can live without a smartphone but the average person likely can't

Since 2011 I had the iPhone 4S, 5S, SE1 and SE3. Ordered my first Android smartphone this weekend (Google Pixel 10a).

Even the lowest of tiers of phones is a smart device.
Still, you say you can live without a smartphone device while you can't, by your own admission.
You don’t know the “average” person. Clearly there are tiers of survival and “smartphone” isn’t near the top.
Nice shift in context, there. Go live in a forest off the grid if you want to argue survivability, that's not what we were talking about.

I can live without a smartphone. Do people “need” a smart device in 2026? I know people who don’t have one. Just a basic cell phone.

Some are so tied to their smart things they don’t realize one can live without it. That doesn’t mean smart devices aren’t convenient. But when you set the bar so high as to say “live” it’s easy to disprove.

Is it just me, or does the article contradict itself? It starts out with:
iPhone owners are sticking with the platform at a higher rate than a year ago
That would imply research about the percentage of iPhone owners staying with the platform when buying a new phone. I.e.: “Your previous phone was an iPhone, what platform do you use now?”

However, then it says this:
CIRP's latest quarterly survey found that just 12% of new iPhone buyers in the March quarter had come over from an Android phone

That’s a different question. It’s “Your current phone is an iPhone, what platform did you use before?” In other words, it doesn’t say anything about Apple’s user retention or loyalty (iPhone users who switched to Android wouldn’t be part of the dataset), and instead tells us about Apple’s ability to attract new customers from other platforms. And that, apparently has gone down:

That puts loyalty three percentage points above the same quarter a year earlier, when 14% of buyers switched from Android and the overall loyalty figure sat at 84%.
So, a year ago, 14% of new iPhone buyers were people who switched over from Android, this year it’s only 12%. That’s not necessarily a positive for Apple. (It’s not necessarily a negative, either - a difference of 2% may well be within the normal margin of error or fluctuation range.)

No, it's because we tend to just eat up whatever Apple throws at us without thinking for ourselves (iPhone Socks, iPhone Pocket, high subscription prices, etc.). We tend to just buy an Apple computer/phone for ridiculously high prices when cheaper alternatives exist, then proceed to insult said alternatives without trying them or simply because they're "cheap." At least that's what I've heard.

IOW we are exactly the type of customers every manufacturer prays for. /s

Live in a society != survive. Go back upthread for a refresher of the context in which words are said.

They may not need it today, but countries around the world are increasingly relying on digital services for basic citizenship services. Also, anecdotal evidence yadda yadda.
