First impressions are, and these are just random: the screen is gorgeous, the side buttons feel perfectly positioned for my average sized hands, I can reach all four corners one-handed easily, the size is heavenly, the weight is heavenly, and just physically and design-wise this is the phone I’ve wanted for so long. Typing will take some adjustment with the smaller keyboard but it’s already perfectly fine for me.

I do love my mini beast, but just took my first extended phone call 45 to an hour and while I don't know the exact numbers it took a hit for sure. Hey though, the bigger they are the harder they fall right? Zapped it with a mag safe for like 10 mins and I should be good for the night.

I just tried a brand new Mujjo case and it didn’t worth either. I wonder if this is a hardware or software problem. I am surprised the 12 Pro and Max people with cases don’t have a problem either.

Do you have a screen protector on it?

P.S. And if there were an iPhone Nano (iPhone 5 size with the features of the Mini) some of us would downsize from the Mini.
They could reuse the new X/XS/11Pro/mini display zoom resolution as the standard resolution on that nano, but they‘d have to drop MagSafe, and probably also the ultrawide camera. The market would be quite niche, so rather unlikely.

so if you put the 5G setting on auto, it is still very aggressive in selecting 5g?
There’s no way to know. It doesn’t tell you when it’s not using 5G. It will say 5G even if it’s not actively using it, but a 5G signal is available.

I almost like this Mini too much. I bought it for work and delayed my Max delivery so I could use the Mini as a personal phone for a bit. Now I’m kinda loving it.

The weight is heavenly. I was just walking with it in my hand, and it felt nice and natural, like holding your true love’s hand.

I haven’t had any problems — beyond normal updating, switching, and indexing quirks — so it’s just been mellow.

More later. Just wanted to share good. Hope you find some, too. :)

It was in my pocket and I got up to look for it on the counter because I couldn't feel it 😊. And I've used the 12 pro for the last 3 weeks - this one is the same basic design and materials, but the pro feels WAY more slippery because your fingers don't wrap around it like they do they mini.

Haha. Was that a lovely feeling when you realized where it was? Yes I’m already learning that I don’t need to support it with a pinkie at the base; I can just grip the whole phone and still manage the weight and move my thumb about the screen. I tried the 12Pro, too, so I hear you!

The sound from the mini is pretty loud and clear albeit a little tinny sounding due to being weak on bass reproduction.

The screen is gorgeous and very responsive. The text is crisp and clear. I haven’t had any problems typing on the phone. It is also very easy to hold naked and doesn’t feel slippery nor do I feel it will slip from my hand. I can’t use the phone 100% one handed as my thumb will not stretch all the way across the top and that is fine. I couldn’t do that with the SE 2020 either. The phone feels good in hand.

I will give a more thorough review in a week or so. Too early for battery, cell signal, 5G etc.
