Beautiful! I don't understand how people can have backgrounds made to be seen or with a design, yet there's 20 (not counting the dock) icons on top of it! I would do something similar, but I tend to have a lot of apps. I think I'll put three rows of apps on the first page and then eighth folders on the second Also, I'm with the others that would want an explanation on how to gain root access so we can have our way with Newstand!

1. That looks pretty boring
2. I'm not sure that the OP has really done anything ground breaking here. Seen this look many times but I know this is a "look at me" era we live in so mission accomplished.

minimalism ftw

all the rest of the apps on my second page are in categorized folders

except for that pesky newstand

One does not simply, buy an iPhone and use it as Nokia 3310.

I thought it is pretty cool to have bunch of apps categorized on different pages and swipe between them. This is what defines iPhone.

Is your phone jailbroken?

It's an iPhone 5, so no. Although I'm going to see about it very soon.

LMFAO :D. Fair enough, but I really, really am not bothered by only having folders :). Once you memorise them, you can flick through them as fast as pages :)

As opposed to other eras where there were no styles, trends, pop stars, celebrities, etc....riiiiight.

Hahahahaa. Perfect.

It's not a 'look at me' thing either, I just thought I could suggest something that some people might enjoy and take after because they enjoy it :)

Can you explain the newsstand thing a little better? I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I'm not sure what your post means (the plist) or how to even access that file, especially without jailbreak. What program did you use??

Thanks :D

Mine is better. I have the iBlank icons so my real home screen starts on the second page.

You don't even have to use blank icons anymore to have the homescreens start on the second page. iOS 6 fixed the "bug" where a reboot would put all the icons back on the first page. Ever since iOS 6 I've had all my icons on my second page and haven't had to move them.

I really want to know how to get rid of the Newsstand app though.

That's still quite impressive for the last two alone. You're not a such a bad guy after all. :p

I've done the same as him. Started with a Droid 1 as a Christmas present back in '09 and used it until late 2010, then bought myself a Droid X and used it for ~1.5 years till mid 2011, traded that for an HTC Thunderbolt, trade the Thunderbolt 2 weeks after I got it (terrible battery life) for an iPhone 4 16GB on Verizon. Used that for a year and then bought myself a 32GB VZW iPhone.

Prior to getting a smartphone/buying myself a MacBook, I had no idea what I was interested in. After seeing what I could do with software on an iPhone that synced to my Mac and kept me (a 17 year old with ADHD) organized for the first time in my life (especially in school), while also keeping me on task and helping me to remember what I needed to do throughout the day helped me realize that I like working with technology and software and I now know that I want to become a software engineer. Looking back, I had to make some compromises in order for all of this to happen, but it was definitely worth it. I actually wish it had happened sooner around the age of 11-12 instead of 13-14.

I'm the same way. I only use 3 rows on the extra home screens to not cover the wallpaper.

I allow myself four icons per screen (no folders, with one exception for a few weather apps on my third screen) with the last screen as a semi-sorted dumping ground. I don't mind flicking screens to get to an app and I sort them based on type and how much I use them. Apple's apps which I don't use (like Gamecenter) are on my last screen. The one's I have on my first screen are the one's I use most.

most used apps in the dock folder then 4 folders / page with emoji names and most used app from that category below.
