All these iPhone "minimalist" screenshots look horrible. iOS does not look good at all like this. An Android or a Windows Phone would look much better if you want minimalism.

How does choosing to not have a wallpaper cluttered with icons "look horrible"?

It's all personal preference.

Something to do with the cluttered status bar, iOS folders, and rounded corners of the faux 3D, glossy iOS icons that creates a stark faux pas that makes all these "minimalist" screen shots anything but minimalist.

Prior to getting a smartphone/buying myself a MacBook, I had no idea what I was interested in. After seeing what I could do with software on an iPhone that synced to my Mac and kept me (a 17 year old with ADHD) organized for the first time in my life (especially in school), while also keeping me on task and helping me to remember what I needed to do throughout the day helped me realize that I like working with technology and software and I now know that I want to become a software engineer. Looking back, I had to make some compromises in order for all of this to happen, but it was definitely worth it. I actually wish it had happened sooner around the age of 11-12 instead of 13-14.

How did you manage to get organized? Our 14 year old has the same issue, (ADHD) and he will be getting my old iphone 4 soon. Any advise will be greatly appreciated!

I am a minimalist for sure, but only if it makes things more functional. Having a blank first page means I would miss update notifications and other badge notifications. I also feel like the ios6 default wallpaper is the most pleasing on the eyes with apps over it.

Nice xj. You xjwoody on naxja and pirate?

I'm AzRick on NAXJA (haven't been on in years)

I'm forevernoob on Pirate (read every day, don't post much)

Locally I'm known as Woody on the Virtual Jeep Club and a couple other clubs

Who are you?

Sent you a PM. In my PM I assumed you had a son (I don't know why... It's late and I'm tired), so if you do not, and instead have a daughter, I apologize.

This looks cool. I tried it with my phone so I could enjoy the same wallpaper I have on my lock screen on my home screen. But for me, it just isn't practical enough. I prefer just having all my icons easily and quickly accessible. The things I have on my first page I use very frequently, so putting them in folders adds an unnecessary step for me.

Too bad, because it's cool looking.

I only use badge notifications for some of the most used apps in the dock. Everything else is setup for banner notifications so none of those are missed.

but im not the type that needs to know the second something happens...when I get around to looking I open the notification bar and see whats going on

I change my wallpaper with the seasons or when the mood strikes me. This is what I'm using now.
I prefer having folders/apps confined to the top row.
