3G Service with Unlocked iPhone 4 CinBell USA

Hello,

I have an unlocked iphone 4 and I'm using Cincinnati Bell as my carrier service. Everything works great, except I cannot connect to 3G, only Edge. I understand that in the Cincinnati area an unlocked iphone will not connect to 3G because Cincinnati bell and at&t are on different frequencies. However, I'm living in South Carolina and can still only get the Edge network to connect.

Has anyone been able to connect to 3G on an unlocked iphone 4? I'd greatly appreciate any help/suggestions.

I thought it had more to do with carrier settings and what they'll support on their network. I helped a neighbor setup an iPhone on CBT and ended up having to search for various carrier settings but still was limited to Edge on those. I guess it's possible that the agreements limit the frequencies and the data technology associated with those particular towers. I truly don't intend to sound rude, but CBT just isn't a very good carrier these days. I dumped them about 10 years ago when it became very clear that their primary intent wasn't to keep up with technology, but simply rely on local loyalty and tweak pricing to maintain at least a viable customer base. I have friend & family at CBT and even some of them have moved away from their service.
