It does break MMS, hopefully I will find a workaround, if not, you can restore your old iPhone Carrier Settings without restoring your iPhone.

doesnt MMS not work anyway? and is anyone else having bluetooth connecting issues when trying to connect to their computers? its basically not letting it stay connected.

MMS Sending never worked for me and it doesn't after using the updated carrier settings. I like being able to tether though so I don't care too much about MMS. I do wonder if I can receive them though.

I got Tethering working on Vodafone IT.

I also found a way to send an MMS with Vodafone IT, but still hacking the plist to have it working flawless (currently I can use internet OR MMS due to different APNs in Italy)

[I'll update here or on twitter @fedepo as soon as I get it 100% working]

I made ipcc files for the Philippines, running on both Globe and SMART. Tethering works on both. MMS works on SMART, but not on Globe (which is the official iPhone carrier).

Tethering rocks! At P5.00 (around .10c USD) per 15 minutes, this is a good deal for us Filipino iPhone users. :)

err... so ive set the tethering option ON and bluetooth is also ON on my iphone
on my macbook i get to the stage where it says :

to continue pairing, make sure the number xxxxxx is displayed on the device you are pairing
but nothing shows up on the iphone... ??

I'm curious - when using this or PDAnet etc - How does the network know what device is actually using the web - IE to bill data at a higher rate if it's not the iphone "using the data"?

Yep... i for one really appreciate the hard work and effort anyway :)

Its great to see you found our walkthrough and open source IPCC for o2 uk so useful! It's a pitty the OP didn't metion those who wrote the IPCC and walkthrough

So I'll credit them here

hmm... paired up now but getting the too many connections error all the time..

using macbook unibody and my iphone 3g...

anyone had any luck with this combination? unfortunately not able to check with any other computer right now...

Same Bluetooth Netowrk Failed problem

I'm getting the same BT Network Failed problem - your device may have reached its maximum number of supported network connections.

I'm using a late 2008 2.5GHz 17" MBP.

Aaaghhh :mad::mad:

Same problem but I'm on a 15"

FYI, I went back and reinstalled the ipcc I had prior to loading yours (i.e. did the whole 'option' click on 'check for updates' thing but selected the prior ipcc). It appears as thought the MMS is back, but the tethering is still there. Might work for you...I can't get my tethering to work (see above).

Anybody have the original att carrier ipcc file? Doesnt seem to work for me and want to reload the original. Thanks!

Nevermind!! Im up and working. ATT on a 2008 mbp 2.6
However, where anybody know where i can get the original ipcc file anyways?

Sweet, thanks for figuring this out. Being able to tether was the one thing keeping me from trying out the 3.0 beta and this settles that. As for it breaking MMS, I've got texting blocked altogether on my account so it's no big deal. :D

Thanks IPHONEJB
so for the original carrier ipcc i just download that file, unzip it to get the payload folder. Then simply zip up the whole payload folder and rename it ATT_US.ipcc then load it using itunes?

I'm almost certain I set-up my phone correctly on O2 UK. But I just can't get my unibody mbp running 10.5.6 to recognize it while using USB. Or even when using bluetooth where I just get an error about too many connections being made.

Anyone with any ideas? Perhaps someone nice could write a detailed guide for what to do on the mac side of things?

I'm starting to thing this may be another one of those unibody issues... hello DFU mode all over again!
