The camera shutter is noticeably faster. No one has mentioned this yet?

And the GPS finds a lock much quicker now, and maintains location better.

Are there more specific notification settings in iOS 4?

For example. I want my iPhone to vibrate and ring when I get a voice call, but just vibrate when I get a text message or email. But I ALWAYS want my keyboard clicks to be on.

It seems with the current settings, you are either on silent or not.

"Option to toggle off the ability to send group messages"

Does it have the ability to save as a contact a group?

Not sure why people talk about persistent wifi being a working feature.

On my 3GS there is NO persistent wifi. If I hit the power button to put my 3GS to sleep in iOS 4, and then a minute or two later hit the home button, it's on 3G when it wakes up, and then 5 seconds later or so, wifi comes on. So for me at least, wifi does not persist during sleep. Neither does it make sense that it would persist, since that would drain battery SO fast.

agreed.

Isn't persistent wifi an iPod touch feature?

I don't know if anyone posted this, but the phone seems to handle notifications a ton better. I noticed that after leaving my phone asleep for an entire night that when I checked the home screen it would have one notification showing (like always) but upon unlocking my phone, the phone went through every other notification that came before it. It was like a stack of notifications so that I didn't miss anything. Some might find this annoying, but it is nice not to miss anything.

Of course this might not be a new feature and I might be crazy =p

Improved Bluetooth driver for A2DP devices

Sorry if this question has been answered already in this thread, but where did you find this out?
does this include any improvements to AVRCP as well?

Maybe because someone had forwarded it multiple times before? or maybe it was sent from an email?

Nope, it was a new message. And the receivers of the text weren't in the body as a usual forward would be, it was it the "to" - it was like I sent the text. And no it wasn't an email, since it came from a phone number.

I have wanted this for so long!

Just noticed you can now ask your iPhone via Voice Control for the time. Nothing huge but I will use it.

Phone numbers are also now in red font to tell the difference between a phone number and web link.

I wanted this for so long!

Option to set double home button tap is gone (of course because of multi tasking)

I thought that the old double tap (IE iPod or camera) Was to be replaced with tap then hold the home button.

I miss having a fast way to open my camera.

Select multiple photos for mass deletion

Resize photos

Where do you see the rotate photos and resize them? I've not seen that at all.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

Tap and hold on google maps application and a pin is dropped on the map were your finger was, pretty neat and nice.

i noticed in other peoples screenshots that you can sort photos by places and faces, is the faces feature only compatible with macs? or did they manage to code that feature into the phone OS itself?

Only on Macs. You can't add faces and places on the iPhone itself, they have to be synced from iPhoto.

Shows how background audio will work. The Ipod icon in the popup controls will be replaced by whichever audio app is running - in this case the Voice Recorder app.

Interestingly, in the GM this feature does not work properly...

I never even thought about this...interesting. Are we suppose to think the play/pause is to stop or play the recording?

Does anyone else get the feeling that while their multitasking implementation is great, there are some really strange shortcomings?

For instance, the play/pause button will not reflect the nature of the app. The recording should show the recording button like that found in the app. Also, the iPod app shows the song playing beneath the play/pause button but Pandora does not (not that I am aware of at least). The iPod app shows album art on the lock screen, but Pandora does not.

It just feels like the multitasking system isn't adaptable outside of its structured implementation. I really hope to see them improve some of this in the future. For now it seems great but some of it just seems a little disconnecting

That will be awesome for programs like Pandora. Thanks for sharing. This makes me happy!

Though given how well background audio works with YouTube and Voice Memos on GM, we may need to wait for 4.1 for it to work properly....

Remember that we had to wait for 3.1 fir many 3.0 features to work?

i dont think we'll have to wait that long...just have to wait for developers to update their apps with 4.0 compatibility
