I always had the feeling that the lockdowns have been a bit of an overreaction and also ineffective. But Chinas insistence on them especially even after the rest of the world has stopped makes me wonder if they know something we don’t. I hope that’s not the case.

Cracks me up that we are still having lock downs…they don’t work folks.
You should explain this because they quite literally do work. You aren't going to contract COVID at home by yourself and quarantine will prevent spread. It's dumb simple logic. Now what you might be referring to (if I had to take a huge leap) is the efficacy of lockdowns long term as it pertains to stabilizing economy and returning things to how they once were. Especially when it concerns China's zero-tolerance policy and especially in the face of tests, vaccines and antivirals.

I’m glad you know more than professionals. Might also tell your dentists you can chew on fluoride tablets to not get cavities.
Doesn't take a professional to look at the data...once vaccines were available for high risk people, there was zero point. Only point of lockdowns was in the time when there were still questions about the virus and medical systems were being pushed to limits.

Vaccinate if possible and mask up. You can't stop this virus completely but you can take precautions. That being said, I hope those who are manufacturing Apple devices stay safe. I think it's important for Apple users to know a little bit about what the workers of the manufacturers of Apple gear have to live through.

A few thing:
1) by the time the outbreak is detected, it’s already incubated 5-10 days. So interactions with people not locked down will still cause a spread
2) long term economic stability and wellness of children is another issue not worth the cost for something that affects less than 1% the overall population in terms of severity.

These pointless lockdowns hurt China more than the countries they supply products to. The silver lining is that I think it's quite apparent that production needs to be diversified into other countries and that's slowly happening. China's poor management of Covid and their recent financial difficulties sends a clear message to that effect.

In the meantime, a three week wait for an iPhone isn't a big deal. We should be more worried about issues with the food supply.

Lol…I don’t need a phd to observe the last 2 years of empirical evidence to know that you can’t outrun a pandemic. It’s also not with the economics and social harm caused to children for something that affects less than 1% of the overall population, most of which have made bad health decisions throughout life.

Are you ACTUALLY suggesting the "professionals" locking people up for any single COVID case in China, destroying the world economy and throwing their weight around to control people, are doing this based on scientific knowledge?

What I know is you would have to be a fool to trust the Chinese Government. They've used their lockdown strategy as a way to regain control of their citizens. It's nothing to do with "professionals", unless you mean professional tyrants.
