Holy hell, this dude looks creepy AF. Looks like he drives around slowly, asking little girls if they want some candy
I think he's supposed to be looking smug that he has the Rose gold iPhone. Or just because it's new. He's a nice looking young man but the expression frozen like that IS a bit creepy. In the commercial it's just a moment and he looks more or less normal.

The Rose gold iPhone goes nicely with his shirt and jacket. It's a nice color phone for men or women but it's not going to go well with everything the way the more neutral silver and space gray do.

I went back to September 20, 2013 articles to see how macrumors reported this for the 5s launch. Here are two tidbits from that article:

"Within four hours after Apple began taking orders for the iPhone 5s, Apple Store shipping estimates for new orders of the device slipped to 7-10 days in the U.S. and Canada, following a similar pattern to shipping estimates in other countries where the 5s went on sale earlier today. The original shipping estimate for all 5s models was 1-3 days.

Some 28 minutes after they went on sale, all gold iPhone 5s models saw their shipping estimates slip to October."

"Last year it took an hour for pre-orders of the iPhone 5 to sell out, while the year before it took some 22 hours to sell out of the pre-order launch-day stock of the iPhone 4S."

Now we know the 5s sold in much greater numbers than the 5, but it sold out slower.

I think Apple generally can get better yields for the "S" launches because the form factor is basically the same meaning it is easier for manufacturers to stick the new components in there. So these sell out times are very hard to determine. It is somewhat predictable though that the new color sells out fast. Since that is the new body, I bet yields are low for that device.

On an anecdotal basis I will report that most of my friends and co-workers are using an iPhone 6. I'm the only such user who has said they are getting the 6s. But a few people with older iPhones are getting the 6s. Still in my circle, this version is going to sell a lot less.

I think it's pretty clear-cut. Apple produced around 70-80 million iPhone 6s and 6s Plus handsets this year. I think it's still going to sell extremely well. You can't judge the sales when pre-orders haven't even been live for one day yet.
Not only did they increase production (as reported by several tech blogs) they also started pre-orders two weeks ahead of release, instead of one week like last year. Worth pointing out that as of 3 hours ago, most models are delayed in China.

You'd think that by now they'd have figured out the issues with different models for different carriers. Does anyone know if the T-Mobile version is different than the AT&T version, and if so is one better than the other? I've read conflicting reports about LTE Band 30 (some say that only the ATT version has it and others say that the T-Mobile version has more bands).

I have AT&T but was forced to buy the T-Mobile version due to the Apple system trying to force the shipment to my AT&T billing address even though I wasn't trying to get any subsidy, payment plan etc. - just to buy the correct version for my carrier at full price.

I'm downsizing to a 6s from 6+ but would have gotten a 6c... Ordered a Rose Gold and if some people think it's feminine or gay I don't give a damn. I'm not feminine at all but my husband looks like Peter Pan ;)
I don't think that rose gold will look good with all that green. You're going to have to find another man accessory ;)

California and New York are the most liberal states in America, yet also have some of the most uneducated, conservative, backwards people in small pockets within the states.

Anyone who says that pink should be restricted to women is setting themselves back 50 years. To say someone shouldn't have a certain color of phone because you feel that color should be reserved for women is ludicrous. My comparison was a bit rough, but it's the same mentality, you just don't see it as such because you accept gender stereotypes.

So if the women are the only ones allowed to have a "pink" (Rose Gold) phone, what phone is exclusive to men? Can women not drive blue cars because the gender stereotype says blue is for boys and pink is for girls? Where do you draw the line in the sand. Surely you must be against gay marriage too then... since you seem awfully worried about what everyone else should and shouldn't do, even though it affects you in absolutely no way. Maybe it's like those staunch anti-gay marriage people who think by trying to fight the movement, it'll make their homosexual tendencies go away? Sorry, if you want the pink one, embrace it, and accept that some (read: MANY) men are ordering the Rose Gold because they LIKE it and WANT it.

Hope you can sleep tonight knowing that men are buying pink iPhones. LOL
I will like the Rose Gold iPhone but I have to wait for the 7. I'm not Donald Trump lol! Your pot is right on! In don't know why some women have that mentality oh I can get a Space Grey phone! It's a masculine color it's cool! But when it is a guy who feels that he likes the Rose Gold color which I admit is more feminine than black. They cry foul and think that it is degrading. We live in a new society which I believe both genders are equal and both feminine and masculine colors are cool. And that anything that a woman is or likes is not degrading. I think men should encourage themselves not to be so narrow minded and think that anything that girls like is lame. Women too should not be so narrow minded either and believe that if men like bright colors that it is degrading. That mentality that men rule and women are degrading is so cavemenish.its 2015

I don't understand why a phone should only be good for one year. I would expect many of the upgrades to come from owners of the 4S, 5, 5S and 5C. Perhaps that will be different going forward with these installment programs becoming more popular. But I think it will be quite unfortunate if Wall Street judges the success of this phone by how many 6 and 6S owners upgrade, especially considering according to Apple the number of install base that has upgraded to the 6 and 6S is still quite low.

Hey guys.

Not sure if this was asked or answered, didn't feel like searching through 13 pages.
I was able to successfully preorder the iPhone 6s+ 16gb space gray last night through Verizon. I am eligible for an upgrade but when I preordered, there was no upgrade with 2 year contract option. I had to select the installment plan. I don't necessarily mind doing this, but just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if you've had success going to Verizon and explaining the issue and having them fix it? I'll end up going either way but just wanted to ask.

Maybe it will return next year.
I totally agree. I like the features and bigger screen of the 6Plus, but it is really hard to grip properly (for me) without a case. I would welcome a more squared off version of the 7 next year. Again, just my opinion of course.

Are we back in a scenario where the AT&T and T-Mobile models don't work on Verizon or Sprint, but the latter two work on the former two (apart from LTE Band 30)? Why can't Apple just release a single phone that works on all?

This is because Sprint and Verizon still operate their legacy CDMA networks and Voice traffic goes over the CDMA network. Until Verizon and Sprint support VoLTE, there will always be a "Verzion and Sprint" model. There's physically no difference between the two models save for this ugly kludge. To have simultanous voice and data, requires running two radios, and previous "Verizon" models of devices only had single radios, so you either could make a voice call or use data, but not both at the same time. GSM/UMTS/LTE models share most of their network equipment and can upgrade/downgrade between modes without having two radios.

In the mobile carrier world, The Verizon/Sprint solution is considered extremely inferior, since Qualcomm abandoned the CDMA2000 evolution in favor of LTE. So ugly kludges are required to support the legacy CDMA2000 1X network until they're shut down in 2021.

After 2021, there will no longer be "Verizon/Sprint" models of devices.

a 6s+ 16gb... sigh... they shouldn't even be selling that capacity anymore.
Yeah 16 gig is horrible. I have a 16 gig 6 plus right now and of course I thought maybe just maybe they would give us a 32 gig entry level phone which I would gladly get In the The rose gold but no! They kept the 16 gig. I have to wait for next year for the 7 I guess.

This quandary is getting annoying. The "which is best for me" kinda thing is so silly. Resale values are almost identical (do a bit of research, you'll see)... not like the old days where verizon fetched a premium. What I don't get is how so many people question their decision as to which to buy. Do you REALLY forsee yourself switching from ATT\TMO to VZE\Sprint in the one year ahead that you'll likely own the phone? If you're really that unable to forecast if you may be switching, maybe THAT decision should come before deciding what to buy, because clearly deciding on a service provider is far more important than picking which model within a phone you're going to buy.

I have a line on TMO and one on ATT. I can't imagine not knowing if I might switch to Sprint or Verizon in the next year. Do people really carrier-hop that much?

Can't believe the rose gold is doing so well... I thought I'd never see a gaudier color from apple than the gold macbook, but by god, they've done it.

Out of the box a 16gb has like 11 GB free... that's enough for about 2 movies and nothing else on a 6+ ... The cost per gb difference between 16\64\128gb is so tiny, why anyone would do it is beyond me. But this is America, people can't afford half the things they buy, so my guess is the responses will be "maybe that's all he\she can afford" ... which if $100 or $200 on a $800-1000 phone is the make or break, that person really should reevaluate their real ability to afford the phone anyhow.

I'm a bit shocked by that too. It's not a great color for an iPhone imo. Now slate black on the other hand

Yeah, because nobody offers black phones.. Nokia, Samsung, LG, Google, OnePlus, Blackberry... yeah, so unique.

I just think it's funny how on here people talk trash about a color they don't like. Apple used to give 1 color choice, people whined. So they offered 2... people still whined. So now they offer 4 colors in 2 different sizes, that's 8x the choice of iPhone 1, and people still complain.

I think Wall Street will only care about the total numbers, not so much where they come from. Though Android switchers is a number that they should watch. If this version doesn't sell in greater numbers than the 6, then Apple's stock price will drop. Wall Street cares about growth and there is a perpetual fear (and in fact belief that this is inevitable) that cheap and good enough Android phones are going to take Apple's market. The drag on Apple's stock is the fear that this is the year that the slide begins. Only announcing continuous year over year growth counters this position. And in then the nay sayers just switch their target to next year being the year that iPhone sales decrease.

I totally believe you should not upgrade your phone every year. It is a somewhat expensive luxury to choose to do so. I personally have decided to have that luxury, but I'm not expecting many folks with a 6 to choose to do so as well. I'm also going to gift my iPhone 6 to my Mom to replace the my old 4 that she is using. I will also take her phone onto my family plan contract and save her some money there. Then I will sell the 4 (which is in great shape) for about $80 I'm hoping.

For sure for the next phone I will go 64 gig. It's a must lol!

This page shows four model numbers:
http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/specs/

but yes, two of each look the same. I have read here and there though that there are differences between the AT&T and TMO models. Not sure if there's any truth to that though. It's annoying wondering if I got the wrong one, and even more annoying that just indicating that I use AT&T as a carrier means I only have one possible option as a shipping address!
