never have i purchased a brand new phone "when it's released" nor have i preordered any device.

i am about to do both now as my current 5C is giving me nightmares. can't wait for the purported 5SE, it ticks all the boxes that i care for!
My 5C is on it's last legs, and degrading as the days to this rumoured Apple event count down. Non-Apple replacement screen is a bit flaky and even popping out on the top edge, and the battery barely lasts half a day now. And my contract is pretty much up too. Although I've never been shy of buying first generation models. Never had any issues arising from that either.

Here's a question I would like to know with certainty: do case manufacturers get advance details of devices from Apple? I have always assumed the answer is no and they either get schematics from Apple on the day they are announced or buy the device and measure it themselves. If this is true, then all these case leaks (we've seen 2-3 of them this week alone) amount to zero new information. Just an echo chamber of companies responding to rumors so that they can have a jump of the competition on day 1.

As much as I loved the design of the 4/4s/5/5s, I wouldn't spend an "Apple price" on a device that looks so old already. Yes, I hate to be superficial, but I wouldn't want people to think I have an old iPhone. If you think about it, this design is 6 years old. It started with the iPhone 4 and then barely changed.

I want a small iPhone 6s/7 in iPhone 5s size, with the power button at the top. With rounded edges. In black. With the black leather case. That's what I want. The 6s would look good in 4", and I wouldn't even mind the antenna bands, as ugly as they are, because I'd have the Apple leather case.
Right now; I'll take whatever they release. Even if only comes in the gold / bling colours!
I haven't had a new iPhone for 2 1/2 years, which promotes annoying withdrawal symptoms compared to being able to get one every year.

2 ½ years? Bitch please, I still use my iPhone 4. :D People will say "Oh it's so obsolete", but yes they're more or less right. It works very well all the normal things: Telephone, iMessage, some mails. As little Safari as possible. Battery runs great. Photos, myeah. But of course it could be faster. My 5s (which I don't use at all in fact, I'd like to sell it) is flying compared to the 4.

Cool. Fingers crossed for that phone size and good battery life.

tim-cook-big.jpg What iphone SE?

I love it. So long they stray far from the 6 design, Im sold. Dont want no protruding cam neither.

"Design drawings have suggested the iPhone SE could perhaps have a camera that protrudes slightly"

Yes, they do

Never got the love for the sharp edges or the outline it creates in one's pocket. Still limping along w/ my 4S, and a lower cost device would be nice, but I won't get another non-curved edge iPhone.

Having a nearly identical design to the 5s would explain the lack of part leaks. I also wonder what is the likelihood of there being TWO 4 inch phone released, a budget one to replace the 5c/5s and a 6S Mini on par with the 6s/Plus.

I also seriously doubt anyone in the US will be able to buy a discontinued 5s for half price as has been rumored. I can't see Apple canabalizing sales of a new 4 inch phone right out of the gate. I bet they will concentrate those sales in India.

Is it possible that the new case in the photo is for the already existing iPhone 5s, not the upcoming 4-inch phone?

I didn't find any exactly like that on their website. The cases that have the same type of elements as those are their newer cases, for iPhone 6/6S. The old cases (for 5S) have the same shape (obviously), but different breaks and colors. While I would say they definitely could pass for a 5S case, based on what Spigen currently has on their website, it doesn't seem like they are.

"lack of part leaks" no on one mentioned it can be delayed. I say it every time and every time i'm probably wrong. but that doesn't stop me...

I wouldn't wanna go back to a thick phone. the protruding camera is minor inconvenience.... not something that make people buy a thicker device.

Unless for some reason they like thick phones.... some still do.
