Are they gonna give you a $5 bill credit like AT&T did earlier this year? 😂
I feel bad for the team that has to work on this disaster. I also imagine they can't communicate because their own phones are out of commission lol.I doubt this is the same as 5G in various forms have been out for Verizon for years now. But, the last Verizon outage that was this widespread (at least that I remember) happened when a single central controller computer they used for LTE went offline. In fairness that was hmm... somewhere between 2007 and 2010... So while this sucks it could be worse.
Also for those talking about thinking since this is so wide spread that it would be on the shorter side. During the LTE outage it was off at least all day. I also hope that it comes back on as quickly as possible though.
And, yep. My company is pushing more and more towards the authenticator applications but we also still have text as an option and it is the easy option for several parts of the system.
What area? We're still down in northern coloradoJust got my service back, had none for hours
To a company that was bought out and died...
Doctors should be on FirstNet, which is through AT&T. Not exactly the best play by a doctor. My wife's iPhone 15 Pro is Verizon Wireless, Wi-Fi calling and Wi-Fi texting are not working. Also tried changing from "5G Auto" to "LTE" (then power cycling) and still nothing.
She's unhappy as she is on call doctor and patients can't reach her. I can't setup call forwarding by dialing *72 to setup somewhere else, I also can't log into My Verizon to see if you can forward calls on the website - 2FA not working since its sending text I can't receive.
5$ credit and you cant sue as a resultAre they gonna give you a $5 bill credit like AT&T did earlier this year? 😂
How does that help. Sure this time but a few months ago it was AT&T that was down. So…. Hmmm. Logic …. Logic.Doctors should be on FirstNet, which is through AT&T. Not exactly the best play by a doctor.
FirstNet didn't seem to have much of a problem. How does that help. Sure this time but a few months ago it was AT&T that was down. So…. Hmmm. Logic …. Logic.
The issue isn't that. The bean counters don't want to invest or do proper disaster recovery planning or drills. Same issue a few years ago Wells Fargo had a multi-day outage. When will these telecom companies hire competent IT people that know how to run an efficient system.
I can assure you the IT at these companies is crap. Everything from the point of sale systems to their customer facing websites. I deal with it everyday. The issue isn't that. I used it ! Worked great, took awhile to send a message but it got through5+ hours and counting. But at least it gave me a good chance to try out satellite text messages. Though eventually that said that the satellite text message service was temporarily out of service. They may have disabled the message service to give priority to 911 calls via satellite
Unfortunately HR has set things up so that competency is at the bottom of the list of requirements nowadays. When will these telecom companies hire competent IT people that know how to run an efficient system.
Here is southern IN near Louisville KY I was NOT able to get the SOS (non-Emergency) Text message to work. I disconnected from WiFi and it correctly asked me if I wanted to use the service. It tracked the Satellite but then told me the service was unavailable. I tried twice with the same results. So, maybe location matters for this option…. <Shrug>I used it ! Worked great, took awhile to send a message but it got through
Yeah that's not the levels of IT I'm referring to. Not the entry level front line moles. I'm talking about the system engineers that are in the data centers that don't interact with anyone outside of their team.I can assure you the IT at these companies is crap. Everything from the point of sale systems to their customer facing websites. I deal with it everyday.
All of my fedex and ups packages have been hours past the estimated time lately.Does anyone know if FedEx is affected by the Verizon outage? As of this morning, I was supposed to have a phone delivered that showed out for delivery. Now it’s well passed estimated delivery time and status is stuck at “we experienced a problem“
