iPhone stock news [UK]

I liked the white one enough to travel to another country just to get one, when I could have just picked up a black one at a store a few miles from my home
I bought a white one yesterday. I think the white is much nicer, have seen a few white ones around Glasgow now.
Don't think that you are right in saying no one wants white.
If you don't mind, what's stock control like at the Glasgow store? I'm flying back in to the country to Glasgow airport and figure I may as well stop by Buchanan street and pick one up before I head back to Edinburgh. I'd be at the store around 1pm, you reckon they'll still have some white ones around?
Their stock checker isn't much use unfortunately. Always borked when I check it.

must of been an error.
That happens every night. I assume it happens when they're updating the stock on their website.
Give them a call and check what they have in stock, they were very willing to tell me hey had loads in stock and that they could even hold one for me since I was making a special trip to the store. If you were looking for a 16GB black one you might find it more difficult, but if you're looking for a white one or a 8GB black, you should be grand.
Yeh your thinking of Tuesday's stock (not Wednesday's) when they didn't have any stock in any stores in the UK.

Look, I'm not going to respond to more comments about this because everyone's taking what I said out of context. It was a half joke, and people seem to think I somehow hate the white one. I'm probably BUYING a white one today because I don't care about the color. I was simply stating that it seems, based on the then current supply of the different colors, that people want the black one more than the white, which seems contrary to what Apple would have thought. The white one was "special" and people don't seem to be responding by purchasing it, instead wanting the black one.
I am not saying no one here wants the white one, I'm not saying you're a bad person if you want or like the white one. I was simply making a light hearted comment about the current supply of phones and the pressumed prefereferences of consumers. I didn't mean to offend anyone based on this observation, but based on the harsh tone I received from people, it seems clear that I have.
Fair enough, but you were going by the stock at the Apple store when there are many upgraders wanting the white but can't get it.
Apple's online inventory is wrong. They said the Regent street store wouldn't have black 16GB's, and I was allocated the third in line today. Only problem was my uni hasn't apparently registered my address with the royal mail, the building has only been around since the 70's so I guess thats understandable. It looks like I'm going to have to move before I can get one. Its great that O2 has such stringent guidelines, where I got a plan with Vodafone just fine with my school address.
i caved in and got one a white one in regent street today.
i went in for an apple tv, the queue was only 3 people
was out in under an hour including getting my apple tv
and they had to do the holding for O2 thing, which took about 7 or 8 mins.

Carphone warehouse
The carphone warehouse got a big shipment yesterday. Bought one for my better half this morning and the store still had 10 16GBs left.
Unfortunately I'd gotten sick of pointlessly traipsing to the store to find they didn't have any (including Friday morning when the website said they did) so bought one over the phone on Friday morning - means, though, that I can't get it until Monday when it's delivered to the store....
