I have 256GB 16PM and it’s pretty overkill. Over 47k photos and videos. 2TB iCloud.

Most people I see on here complain about 128GB storage being an option, so what do you guys have?
For me, 128 GB is fine since I have iCloud 2 TB
I would assume most people buying an iPhone usually choose 128GB, but maybe I'm wrong
13PM with 512GB and was using ~ 215GB, the I got I;ntersted in the 17PM a few weeks back and did some clean-up and am now using ~ 181GB, so next phone will be 256GB.
I use 735MB (megabytes) of iCloud, I have all my data local incl iPhone backup ...

I have 512GB, but that is only because 512GB was the maximum offered for the 11 Pro Max. When I upgrade later this year I will again get the maximum capacity offered for the model of iPhone I am upgrading to.

iPhone 5 -> 64GB
iPhone 6+ -> 128GB
iPhone 6s+ -> 128GB
iPhone 11 Pro Max -> 512GB

Note, I have a 2TB iCloud subscription for convenience only. I have used up about as much on my 11PM as @HouseLannister has.

128gb and I'm not even using half of it. I can't see myself needing 256gb for many, many years. I guess eventually like in 10ish years.

I have 256 GB (of which 234.18 GB is currently utilized) and have 8 TB of iCloud storage (admittedly a bit much, but it covers my entire family).

I had 128 on my 7 Plus and now again on my 13, at about 80-90GB used on each. A good chunk of that is just photos and a podcast backlog in Overcast. I'd probably upgrade to the next tier of iCloud storage before I add more storage to my phone.

I think another interesting poll would be “how much phone storage are you using“?

I’m only using 274 GB of my 1 TB at the moment.

Had 128gb as long as it's been available and still don't use more than roughly half of it. 2 TB of iCloud (family of 5) obviously helps make that possible.

very timely poll.
nice to see the results and comments.
i have deleted and off loaded a lot in order to try just 256GB on my upcoming new iPhone in September.
and also have become comfortable with using iCloud optimized storage and only keeping necessary copies on both my iPhone and mac, especially my photo library, which is the largest single type of file group that i have.

Have the 256GB 15 Pro Max. At the time of purchase that was the entry model. Otherwise would have gone with 128. But now I definitely want 256GB and will be upgrading to the higher memory tier if the base model is 128.

128gb and its way more than enough. icloud storage is too cheap for me to buy a maxed put iphone. plus the data is more safe in the cloud. with a reputable service of course.

Why don't you store all of the original images and videos on your iPhone? That way you can access them all regardless of your connection to the internet. For me that's the only reason I have 256Gb phones.

It really annoyed me that advance data protection was cancelled in the UK so I figured I’d teach them a lesson and get the 1TB model 😂

I’m glad I did as so much better keeping everything local on the device… I then just manually sync my photos to my laptop..
