Why don't you store all of the original images and videos on your iPhone? That way you can access them all regardless of your connection to the internet. For me that's the only reason I have 256Gb phones.

I don't really view photos or videos on my phone, other than to review a photo I just took.

I've used around 70gb of my 256gb. I don't use iCloud, but offload my photos/videos to my laptop which gets backup to my NAS, and a couple disconnected and off-line hard drives weekly. Current photo library size is around 90gb.

256. i have too many photos on my phone and didn't feel like figuring out what to do with them. i don't pay for icloud storage, but do pay for extra google storage. i don't like doing it, but it's easier than figuring anything else out.

We have 5 children, 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 1tb is barely enough to store all the photos and videos that they share with their Grandma and Grandpa. Can't wait for 2 tb!!!!

I could get my use down below 128GB if I tried, but I don't want to pick and choose what's on my device and am not a fan of relying on cloud storage for anything, ever. Been burned too many times. 256GB and currently using 219.06GB of it, so it's working out great.

I get having a lot of photos and video, but you don't have to keep them all on your phones, especially with iCloud.

My 128gb 13 has 30gb free (and I could free up more pretty easily if I needed to). Unless the iOS or apps get significantly bigger I don't see myself needing 256gb in the near future.

Also 1TB… but I download all my photos locally and have a ton of GBs of audio files available offline - using almost 400GB. I could get by with a 128GB if I wanted (as I do with my iPad that I’m typing on right now) - which is only using 53GB with optimized storage turned on.

very timely poll.
nice to see the results and comments.
i have deleted and off loaded a lot in order to try just 256GB on my upcoming new iPhone in September.
and also have become comfortable with using iCloud optimized storage and only keeping necessary copies on both my iPhone and mac, especially my photo library, which is the largest single type of file group that i have.
Yeah, if you have a large enough iCloud quota you can get away with a lot less internal storage.

128GB - definitely don’t need more for now.

Usually have 30-40GB free

It’s YouTube who uses most storage (30-50GB) because I save the history of the usage.
I rather delete manually off and on.
Next phone will probably be 256GB or even 500GB
But I’m hanging in with my beloved mini that I bought late 2022. Nothing of Apples recent phones have even touched me.
Wait for Apple flip preferable, or fold.

If nothing of that will be released by Apple? - - -> Samsung here I come.

Most people I see on here complain about 128GB storage being an option, so what do you guys have?
For me, 128 GB is fine since I have iCloud 2 TB
I would assume most people buying an iPhone usually choose 128GB, but maybe I'm wrong

Reception is spotty at my parents and I always like to have stuff to watch on device, so 256GB does me well. I tried 128 on 13 mini and it just wasn’t enough.

128Gb would be pushing it. Mostly Photos.app. I like my entire library to be on my phone.

iPad is 256Gb but has VLC and a bunch of films / TV stuff on it for when I'm travelling.

I have 256GB of storage of which 200GB are used. Applications take up the bulk of the storage, then media, then photos. I could get rid of media since I rarely listen to my collection of music, but even then, it would just be saving 30GB.

256GB might be just enough for me, depending on the resolution of photos I take. That said, I feel like it is more comfortable for me to have more than 256GB for my phone, but 512GB is more than needed though it is the next level. Something between 256 and 512 would suit my phone.

I love apple product, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t like the monthly charge for iCloud storage (though I do pay $1 for 50gigs). So….I get the 512gig phone. I like to download all of my music onto my phone. I don’t do streaming services. Your mileage may vary.
