Any-network ver.2 + Swiss Iphone + Italian sim =....?

Hi all,

I've just received my any-network ver.2. Here is what I want to do:

1. Go to the Apple Store in London and test it with my Italian sim card. If works that's great and that means that the problems described by freighthog could have been solved (international roaming)

2. Go to Switzerland buy a locked Iphone on pay as you go (swisscom is the cheapest on earth), activate it and coming back to Italy where I live and put my anynetwork to use it there.

I have some worries about my 2nd point: does anyone know what is the best procedure to activate the Iphone in order to use it in Italy?

Is the activation going to affect my any network;
that means: Should I activate the Iphone in Switzerland with the sim card offered by swisscom and then use the anynetwork or should I activate it with my anynetwork+italian sim in Italy?

If anyone could help that would be much appreciated.

Good Luck!

You guys don't get it, the Any-Network Sim Card adapter works by allowing you to use unauthorized sim cards (Unauthorized as in not on one of the authorized carriers EX. AT&T, Rodgers, O2, etc.) for your iPhone 3G or other GSM phone. Its not like the turbo sim that allows you to use your sim in any country without roaming. You need a new sim card for every country you visit. When you get your sim card you put it in with the adapter and then you go to this site: http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/Carrier_APN_Settings find the carrier you are using and change your settings.

Hopes this help explain how to use the Any-Network Sim Card Adapter.:)

Hi, just made my forum account because I got some trouble with any-network.

I ordered the Sim card v2 on the 26th august. I paid for it the 27th august and the 3rd september the order status changed to shipped. But it is now 12th september and I still haven't recieved anything. I live in Sweden so it is not even far from the UK. Has anyone else that has ordered the Sim card v2 been waiting this long for it? I really don't want my card to get lost in the mail -.-
Should I call them and ask what's going on?

Hi Foker,

Would it still be fine if I use the swiss Iphone which is locked with a swiss simcard with an Italian simcard+anynetwwork ver.2?

Many Thanks

Don't worry. I orderd my AnySIM sard on August 23th. They changed staus to "shipped" on August 26th. I received AniSIM September 10th. On envelope I not that shippment was sent on September 2nd, even if they repoted that AnySIM was shipped on August 26th. In cover letter they wrote that they sorry with this late shippment, because they have a lot's of orders. Don't worry you will receve it for sure :)

Man you guys are getting ripped off. I bought turnosim v2 from the main company for only $14.

Again thanks man :)

Does it work with 3g data?
Also is it as thin as the AnySimv2 card? And does it not require to cut ur main simcard like AnySimv2 doesn't require?

Arrived, but skeptical

Ordered the v2 August 30. I received it yesterday September 14. As mentioned before, the letter accompanying the card apologized for any delay due to the amount of orders they've received. It also states their "money back refund if you are not satisfied with the product." Subject to their terms and conditions of course. I will traveling overseas the next couple of days with a short stop in London then on to Africa. I plan on using local sims in my 3g in conjunction with the v2 card. If anyone would like me to try something different to test the validity of the card let me know.

I know T-Mobile has 3G but there seems to be a problem and I am assuming it’s the Any-Network card .
Can anyone help!
freighthog, T-Mobile USA's 3G operates on a completely different frequency. You will unfortunately never have the iPhone 3G working with 3G data on T-Mobile USA.

iPhone 3G supports 850, 1900 and 2100 MHz.
T-Mobile USA apparently operates on 1700MHz for the uplink and 2100MHz for the downlink.

Any-Network V2

Sibruk, Thanks for the info.
Since my last post I have received my new Any-Network Sim Card V2 took 15 days from UK to Germany, It fits in the Iphone sim slot without having to cut the Sim card but I must say it is still a tight fit. The board is thinner than the version one board (paper thin) so be careful but the chip is still very thick so it’s a tight squeeze.
Here in Germany I had no problems getting it to work with my Vodafone card though I must say no 3G, or EDGE, each time I turn one of them on I get “No Service” then I had to remove the Vodafone card and make a call from another phone before replacing it in the Iphone(pain in the A??)but then it worked again.
Roaming this time in the U.S. Dallas, Texas, I got it working after first making a call from another phone them placing back into the Iphone. I did not have a choice of networks, AT&T was the only service provider the provider let-down box did not appear. This meant for me that calling would be a little more expensive because Vodafone and T-Mobile have better roaming conditions. Anyway at least it now works.
Has anyone got a solution to what I call the network boot problem when roaming? It really a pain having to carry two mobiles around with you and swapping the cards back and forth

Yes its the thin one that doesn't require any cutting. All the thin one that doesn't require cutting(v2) are all the same. Distributer/Reseller just set dif price and dif name but really its all the same chip.

If you want to buy, here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...o=CRX&its=S%2BI%2BSS&itu=ISS%2BUCI%2BSI&otn=4

He has nice feedback also. I bought from him, it's directly shipped from the company in china.

Someone on this forum suggested that you put on flight mode then turn it off and your simcard should be restarted, but since I don't have my anysimv2 card yet I guess u can try it and tell me the results.

I don't think people follow the guide To get the smart sim card working. I remember seeing the video showing that you had to take the smart sim card in and out of the iPhone the first time to get it working.

I think that this is not necessary. I put anysim v2 first time in my iPhone 3G and everything works from first try. I have followed following procedure:

1) Turn off iPhone (completely turn off)
2) Get out att SIM card
3) Put anysim and my telenor sim card
4) Turn on iPhone 3G
5) After arounf 5 seconds I was registered on network

Just to let tou know. Any-network card stops working with firmware 2.1 had to downgrade to 2.02 to make it work again. No replay from any network yet

what colour is everyones cards? I got my new iphone today, tested it out and nope it doesnt work, even with the o2 sim it doesnt work so its gotta be the unlock sim thats faulty.

So I am also buying the i-smartphone 3g unlock simcard which is 0.10 mm thin and the rebelsimcard new version which is 0.20 mm thin, I have already bought the anysimcard v2 still havent recieved it though and I wondered how thin is that sim card does anyone know?

I am attaching a picture of Any-Network unlock sim version 1 and 2(the black is V2) the material that v2 is printed on is thinner than V1 (hard to see in the picture. The chip is also a tad bit thinner than V1 and the placement is different. As I said before it’s a better fit, no cutting but still a tight squeeze. I tapes the bottom of my unlock sim-board and sim-card together. Has anyone had problems after upgrading to apple’s newest update software? I’ve read that some hardware unlocked Iphones don’t work after the upgrade and jailbrake.

Finally I got my anysimcard v2 and it all works fine but I have only had it for an hour.
I don't have 3g yet so I couldn't say if it works or not also yea the v2 is extremly thin, it seems to be thinner then paper lol. Oh yea and I had a trick I filed my main simcard on the backside and to tell you this it wasn't even a tight squeeze. It was totally normal as if the anysimcard didn't exist. But yea I also put on a bit of tape because it is very practical, like if i'm outside and I want to remove the simcard or something all I have to do is pull the tape.
I will keep my information updated when I've had the sim for a while and when I get 3g internet.

Also I have 2 other simcards coming soon so I can try them out aswell, one of them only cost 14 $ including shipping so let's see how that sim works.

What's interesting is that the anysim v2 card that I got has i-smartphone 3g printed on it but I've seen the exact same card at rebelsim and other companies I think so what I think is that they all buy the same card but might program it differently, not sure.

here is the 14 bucks simcard that I bought
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=330270430284
That card looks EXACTLY the same as the anysimv2 card that I got today EXACTLY the same. Seriously lol if they turn out to be the same card then that is twisted, I payed like 60-70 bucks for the anysimv2 to buy and get it shipped and only 14 for that one including shipping. Lol. Oh yea also I paid for for the anysim v2 on 27th august I recieved it today on 18th september lol and I live in Sweden which is about 1 hour flight away from London. And the simcard for 14 bucks takes less then 14 days.

No go on 3g (2.1)

v2 card is not working with my 2.1 3g iPhone. After inserting the v2 and sim in the phone, I get the "No SIM" error message. It does nothing but say No SIM where the network provider should be listed. No reply from Any Network after 2 days.

Did you pay with Paypal? If you open a dispute you find most sellers will then get in touch with you, if they don't the Paypal will give you the refund.
