Hey guys
I've been using the Any-network piggyback sim for about a week now. The postage took longer than expected and after a few initial hiccups, I managed to get my iphone 3g working on T-Mobile in the UK. The problem is that as of this morning, my screen shows 'no sim'. I have switched it off, reset my phone, and wiped the piggyback sim but nothing seems to work. Is this symptomatic of piggyback sims or is mine just faulty? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Uhm that isn't supposed to happen. Try to put your simcard into another phone, play with it a bit and then put it back in the iphone.
And I have changed my mind about this unlock sim card.

A while ago in this forum when I tested it, it seemed not to work. But now for some reason it works perfect. Had no problems with signal drops or anything and my friend has been using it for like a month now. They are like 1/5th the price of the anynetwork cards. Currently I'm sticking with rebelsimcards until they release a software unlock. I am sticking with rebel because I can upgrade the rebel versions with a programmer.
And here is a small update on 3g with rebelsim and anynetwork.
I have alot of friends that get their 3g to work with rebelsim and anynetwork. But I myself have alot of problems with it. If I put my original simcard into another 3g phone, then I surf a bit then I put the simcard with either rebel or anynetwork into my iphone I get 3g and I can surf for a while. The problem is the 3g dissapears after some time. It has taken only a couple of hours some times to dissapear. One time I had it on for 24 hours until I restarted the phone.
The problem with these unlock simcards is that they seem to remove the option "Carrier" in options so that you cant chose the carrier that provides 3g. I live in Sweden and here in Sweden even though you have a simcard from a company there will be different carriers for 2g and 3g and the iphone changes to the carrier with 2g everytime. If you have in your country 1 carrier for both 2g AND 3g then 3g should work for you forever.
It is said that rebelsim are working on the "carrier" problem but they haven't gotten far yet so we will just have to wait.
Conclusion: If your carrier has the same network for both 2g and 3g then you are good to go.
If your carrier has 2 different networks, one for 2g and one for 3g (like mine has) then you might have alot of problems.
To get the 3g started put it into another 3g phone, surf a bit then put it back into iphone.
None of these are speculations. This is from experience thank you.
