Why did you pay $10 when it's 0.99 cents at tmobile .com

Well, yea... I needed it immediately because I wanted to verify the unlock before I sold the phone. But, also, I didn't' bother to check to see if they even had it on the site. Oh well.

I purchased my Verizon iP5 at Radio Shack, full price so my plan wouldn't change.... Is mine already unlocked?

Did the $8 unlock from unlock_fusion on eBay. Got it finished by the next day then restored in iTunes to see this :)

ok guys i have a question i just bought an att iphone 5 off of ebay... it was a hassle to activate since i need the guys info but i just activated it and i went to this site and it says that the phone is unlocked??? is this true or is something wrong?

From what I have been reading it seems that a batch of phones that were suppose locked are unlocked. Only real way to see is to get a tmobile sim and cut it down to only the contacts and put it in the i5. If it registers tmobile its unlocked.

Is the old sim still active. If not that might be why you got that message. Can U make a call and use the tmobile data. If so its unlocked.

Figured I'd chime in and say that I'm another successful unlock fusion buyer. Unlocked my iPhone 4S for $6.85. Will probably do my iPhone 5 next just for the heck of it.

BTW, emails were in the spam folder so make sure you check there if you're buying from him. Email address is unlockfusion@gmail.com if you want to whitelist it beforehand.

I started my own thread but haven't got any replys yet so thought I would copy it here.

I got two new iPhone 5's at the subsidized price (signed a new two year contract). When I got them they activated the new phones but I then went to AT&T and asked them to deactivate the new phones and reactivate the old ones. Reason for this is I would like to sell them on eBay.

I want to do the unlock available on eBay but wanted to know if you need a activated sim card in the phone to do so? Also do you have to connect the phone to iTunes after the unlock to finish the process?

Thanks

The eBay unlock request is based on the unique IMEI # burned into each phone. A SIM card is not required for the eBay seller to unlock the
phone. They merely access an Apple database that marks your IMEI # as unlocked instead of being tied to a carrier.

An "active" SIM card is not required to get the "Congrats your iPhone is unlocked" message via iTunes restore. A SIM card is required to be in the phone though. The iTunes message does nothing to actually unlock your phone. All it does is tell you it's unlocked as a confirmation.

The IMEI sites that check cannot be trusted. All we have heard for sure from this thread is that UnlockFusion on eBay has been confirmed as a trusted unlock service. People have purchased from them and confirmed their phones work on other carriers. Also the iTunes restore method is a confirmation as well.

What about sprint???

Where can I get my Sprint iPhone 5 factory unlocked? I really thank you for your responses.

That stinks. Why Sprint always have to be different? So the Sprint phone is capable to use GSM. Thanks!

no its an unactivated sim and i cant so that means that it is locked?

ok i have another question i was looking in the 'About' section of the phone and it says i have Model MD635LL but on the back of the phone it says Model A1428? anyhelp with this?

I got my ATT 4s unlocked today by freedom mobile for $5 via ebay. The unlock seems to have gone through, will try to confirm it tomorrow when I get a Verizon microsim.

I don't want to do a restore/upgrade just yet as I have jailbroken my phone and I just don't want to go through the whole setup/configuration procedure again.

PM me if anybody wants specifics or further details.
