Saw a thread and someone mentioned that they were actually denied due to poor credit rating so it is a real credit check. That was one of things that people were questioning. I guess that means a debit card can't be used then?

A soft pull would produce these results

Just checked my credit and it is a hard inquiry through Equifax.

There's no way it would already be showing up. Stop believing this crap.

If you have Credit karma you'll see it shows up pretty fast sometimes when your credit is run.
Credit Karma is still dependent on when Equifax or Transunion update. Considering this is a check today, and very likely a soft pull, it won't show up today even if a hard pull.

Yes it shows up instantly. I subscribe through a credit monitoring service where I can pull my credit everyday. Will upload screenshot for everyone in a min

I'm not to worried about getting approved as a I recently got an Apple rewards Visa, but what does worry me is that I hear that Barclay the issuer of the Apple visa may close your account if you apply elsewhere close to when you recieved there card.

Here is a screen shot of the hard inquiry

You're all basing this off of evidence that provides no proof as to what type of pull it is. I understand playing it safe but wait for more people to roll in with their experience.

Ok you can go ahead and try but I know the difference between a soft and a hard inquiry. This is 100% a hard inquiry. This service I subscribe through is through USAA and it does not show my softs. I do know of certain backdoor methods to see my softs and I may or may not used to participate in methods to increase my soft inquiries in order to bump off my hard inquires. I am not sure why you think it takes a day for it to show up but it does not. Sometimes you may get a delay in notification from you credit monitoring services but if you actually check your credit then it will show up.

Alright, this guy isn't trustworthy. Someone post with some better evidence.

i just got done purchasing my iphones via upgrade program. went smoothly. separate line for those who had an appointment.

received an email from citizens bank regarding my "loan" for each phone that i purchased via the program.

rep swore to me that the phones were TOTALLY unlocked. told him about all the confusion online, said their reps sometimes suck but he was adamant that the phones via the upgrade program are totally unlocked. haven't checked yet, not opening my phone for a bit until i get home.
