You did well, I too queued for 4 hours from 0800hrs for a 0900-0915hrs appointment. I eventually got my phone at 1157hrs and all i got was a free bottle of water.
Had a 0900-0915 appointment at Covent Garden and just before 1000 they announced that the upgrade systems were down. I couldn't be bothered waiting and just converted the reservation to cash and was out of the store by 1010. Got a banana as well as a bottle of water in the queue. Strange choice of fruit for them to be giving out I thought... They should be able to do the upgrade plan without needing a store visit - plenty of other retailers manage online credit checks etc.

I gave up too with IUP, after queuing for 4hrs I was informed the process taking on average 45mins, so I just coughed up for cash for my 256gb matte black

I was in the Trafford Centre at 1:30pm for a 2:15pm appointment and there was a massive queue for the upgrade program which wasn't moving and were apparently suffering from systems issues.

I switched to the smaller queue and bought it with a credit card and was told I could come back in the next two weeks and get a refund and transfer it back to the upgrade program.

I was offered that option too. But do we take the risk of not getting our original choice of colour & storage

I take it everyone had epic waits this morning when the systems were swamped? Anyone get a free case out of it?

I had a 8.30 appointment at the Leeds store but managed to get in earlier, around 8.10 but had loads of issues with the upgrade programme. The guy kept getting errors at every screen and was having to submit the information around 10 times to get through but thankfully I was full of fanboy adrenaline so wasn't too bad. He was very apologetic.
Took me about 45 mins but was glad I didn't have to come back.

Did you complain to the management? They were only going to give me a silicone but I held out for leather. The guy who served me was very helpful and I built up a good rapport with him.

Reservation screen back up, still only only gold/pink Pluses available!
[doublepost=1474088769][/doublepost]and now all sold out from Leicester store

Just tried getting a 7 Silver and it was stolen from underneath my feet when on the choose your time slot page. Now none available at the Trafford Centre. Damn!!

Was ready at 6am refreshing page, same selection of pink or gold across the country for 7+. No + at all in Birmingham, tried every other city but no results :( Waste of a 5.45am alarm :(

I set my alarm for 5:45am too and was severely disappointed! :( Was there even ANY iPhone 7 Plus phones available to anyone? I don't understand how from the very second the clock turned 6:00am, Gateshead wasn't accepting reservations at all. How is that even fair? Next time, I'd like a warning there'd be no stock! Funnily enough, they told me there'd be stock online from 6:00am to reserve, but that was obviously a lie!

Hmmmmph, so fed up by this whole experience.

It looked to be the same stock as when they froze preorders last week. Rose and Gold available in most places, Silver in a couple, no Black anywhere.

Seems its not available for business customers. Anyone figured out how to go around that?

Would be great to have company pay for it to be able to claim back costs and vat.

Does black iPhone exist ? You would thought they would have made more . Suppose it's good headlines to be in demand

It's a mythical beast that is often rumoured but never seen in the wild. If you do see one you have to be very quiet and approach it stealthily from the side, ideally its left side since its vision is slightly impaired on that side, and try and catch it before it disappears in a puff of unicorn hair and pixie dust

Just to update anyone interested in my experience with my pre-order reservation on Friday (launch day) at Apple Store in Glasgow Buchanan Street. Arrived about 30 mins before allocated time slot of 16:45 and was put in a queue and got taken 5 mins early at 16:40. Was chatting to a guy whilst waiting and he had been in in the morning for a slot around 9am but the queue was way out the door due to system crash so he had returned late afternoon.

My reservation was made under the upgrade programme, but I informed Apple employee that I wanted to opt for the iphone payments plan and wanted to trade in my iphone 6 16GB which was fine. Got a price of £190 for my phone and this got credited to my credit card that I also used for paying the initial £49 for the new phone. I asked if I could use this credit to reduce the balance of the interest free loan, but was told that this was not possible directly through Apple, but that I could try contacting Barclays directly. The Apple employee thought that I should be able to make an additional payment under the payment plan, but not if I had opted for the upgrade programme.

I have since received details of my agreement with Barclays and on reading the small print it confirms that I can make additional payments over and above the monthly amount, which I intend to do using the £190 credit I got for my old phone. Not sure if this will then reduce my monthly payments or that I will pay the loan off early.

Am interested if anyone that went for the Upgrade Programme has the option of making additional payments direct to Barclays?

You did well. Didn't think there were any in the UK at all. I'm only upgrading next year (IF they sort out the upgrade programme issues, and definitely not on launch day) but launch time is always good for entertainment

Edit: just woke up and eyes hadn't focused. Just realised you said a 7 not a Plus. It's the Pluses that are like rocking horse poo
